What a shame. What a big let down and what a joke for Rockstar.
If they tried their hand at Football, or Golf or even real Tennis but this is just lame.
I can now picture their next GTA... (for fans of The Simpsons...)
"Itchy, want some lemonade?"
"Please!"
And while on lame, I still think the whole idea of classic/arcade games on 360 is a friggin' joke too.
HD, next gen, blah blah blah has no need for old 2d junk no matter how great they used to be and still can be.
It's that sort of shit that probably lead to this next generation Pong junk.
I mean, there's almost more (and higher rated) arcade games on 360 than there is real new games.
Then a big, shock announcement that I was hoping to kick the 360 into gear turns out to be pong.
Yes, well....

everyone who is saying ping-pong is lame just think of this for a bit, it could very well be a huge hit in a key market...... JAPAN.... although i would not even consider getting a ping-pong game i think it could help M$ alot in the long run.

it's an XBLA game it could be really fun, but if it's full retail my money wont be making any appearances.
exactly. $5.99 sounds like a good price point for ping pong.

Some of you are replying as if Rockstar owes you something. Realistically, they can make their games however they want, and if you don't like them, you don't have to buy them.
The hype sucks, but no one is holding a gun to your head and giving you the ultimatum of choosing Table Tennis over life. Seriously, grow up.

I could see Table Tennis for the Revolution... hell that would be awesome, but Xbox? Come on.

Unless the players are pimps and beat each other with diamond studded paddles, put this rockstar game in the No category. If they announce GTA Next for the PS3 at E3, I will personally will the entire company into the 3rd circle of hell.
Ping Pong? PING PONG?!? WTH - maybe the Japanese will buy it? Just make a mini-game where you can design the girl's panties to be worn during the match, it'll sell like hotcakes down there.

Well..thanks god it's not another GTA game honestly. I don't think I can take the lack of ingenuity, crappy graphics, and monotonous gameplay anymore.
I think it's commendable that developers wortha damn are experimenting with other ideas. It's the only way we're going to get back to original titles that break new ground. ...and those guys know how to make entertaining game, really. I'm sure the hyp e is justa follow up to the game being fun and addictive around the offices. I am going to laugh when this comes out and gets a 9 or 10 rating. You never know.
The graphics look pretty nice, if they can capture the speed and furiousness of real ping pong it just may turn out to be a hoot. One of the most addictive games I ever played was Shufflepuck cafe, an air hockey game for the ATARI ST. Who would have ever thought.

So you think GTA is getting boring, which is one of the best selling game series ever? Do you think everyone just buys it because of the hype? GTA is actually just about the funnest game out there, it doesn't sell millions of copies for no reason.

GTA games after GTAIII just hold no originality really. They get bigger and better graphics but none of the stuff that made GTA III so good.
GTA : VC was all drugs, GTA: SA was so big.
But GTA III was so dark! It was great, the islands were interesting, the planes required skill to fly and ChatterBox was the best talk radio ever!
Anyway I was hoping this new game was a rare remake of Perfect Dark original (a god before PD0) or to have Banjo Kazooie 3 going on.

Category 5 wasn't saying that the GTA series is unsuccessful. He's saying that he's had enough of it.

They were all original. The sequels were just as original as the third, in different time periods and larger environments; and I consider them as way better than III. They had everything but much, much more. And I think most people will agree.

its sad if this is a retail game and if you and 3 of your friends wanted to play $40 X 4 copies = $160. you could easily go buy a ping pong table and still have money left over for a round of beer
