I have installed a 1.1 spider chip into a crystal 1.6 xbox, (Samsung Ram). The system boots up with the Spider bios 1.02b and shows the menu of flash from disc, from hdd, unlock hdd lock hdd.

I just can't select any option. Its almost as if the xbox freezes at that point. I turn the chip off (via the switch) and I can use the controller in M$ dash. I just can't select any option when I boot from the chip.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Ok, after digging in the forums - the Spider chip is very picky on *real* MS controllers.

I was able to plug in a *real* MS controller, and low and behold I can flash!

So I popped in my M8-16 bios DVD and burned it.

and now its fraggin all over the place. Lovely. Off to do a hot flash, this will be fun as I soldered in the chip.

You know in the bios screen, you move the highlighting by using the up and down on the pad, not the analog stick.
