Noone believed it, but the stores are only getting what they pre-ordered, and other electronics stores are only getting a limited number each as well. This sucks!

i wouldnt believe it. i can promise you that anyone can find the game easily enough. it may be sold out here and there but its not a shortage unless its really HARD to find which it wont be.

My GameStop told me to preorder, saying I wouldn't be able to get it otherwise. Good thing I did.

Well I can't speak for the whole country, but I did not preorder, and just picked up one of 5 extra copies they had at my local EB.

yeah, my EB also said that of all the 26 copies that they are getting, 21 of them are pre-ordered, including mine.

Not the case with my local Gamestop.
I went there yesterday (the game releases today) and traded in PDZ for a reservation towards GRAW.
It looks like they have plenty of copies since I was able to reserve one at the last minute....

When I called yesterday to see if it was in, he said they are getting 26 copies and 24 of those are preordered. 2 other EB's told me the same last week, but I cant see why theyd run such a limited # of them. Im sure you can walk into a store and nab one. They just love to get customers to rush into their store.

Yea, I got mine a couple of hours ago. I got there at the same time that ups delivered them in. The manager wasn't sure if I would be able to get one, so I had to wait until he counted them out for his pre-orders, and I ended up getting one of the 2 that he had left. I still don't htink it will be a shortage issue though. You might have to look around, but you should be able to find one.

They must be limiting quantites because they know how many similtaneous players they can have on at a given time and don't want people complaing about lag...LOL ... just kidding... maybe they are following in MS footsteps with the launch itself... good call... who knows why the industry does anything they do??? Media should be overwheled since they can press millions of discs with the blink of an eye....

exactly, the reason that most places will push for you to pre-order it, is because then that guarantees them the sale.

like the posts have shown there isnt actual known "shortage" of the game, just the fact that its selling well.

I didn't pre-order, but I went to get mine at eb today. The chick working the counter told me that they only got 12 in, and that they are all for pre-orders. I said to her, "Look, I don't have time to dick around with you. Are you gonna sell me the game, yes or no?" She sold it to me. Those game stores must think everyone's a sucker.

I hate going to EB these days. Every time I walk in they ask me if I have any trade ins. And as Im purchasing something they always try to force me to pre order something. GUAH!!

Well I am going to stop by after work (5 o'clock) and see what's available. Futureshop shows them as not in stock but I am sure they'll be there. I have some ps2 games I am going to trade in for whatever they'll give. I don't think I will have a problem getting it, we'll see.

The guy at my store said they got about 60 in, and 45 were preorder.

Just to report in: 3 local EBs sold out in 1 hour. My CC got 6 in, which I got one of. So, it really is looking like a potential shortage.

i understand it may be harder to find in some areas where previous demand wasnt high enough to warrent a large volume of games being shipped but just because some places sell out doesnt mean there is a shortage. to me a shortage is like what has happened with the 360, cant find it anywhere. what this sounds like to me is the game is just selling really really good. unlike consoles, games can be restocked a lot faster so whatever "shortage" that could be present will be quickly fixed. i honestly find it hard to believe that anyone can not in any ways find a copy in their town or city.

That would surprise me too, but I did pick mine up in Tampa, FL - not exactly BFE, if you know what I mean...I could see Raymond James Stadium from the parking lot.

I agree that they will be able to restock quickly, but I bet by this evening or tomorrow evening, there will be a shortage....for a day or so The fact that Circuit City only got 6 in should say something. When DOA came out, they had more than I could count.

I traded 3 old xbox, a ps2 games and final destination 2 dvd for 9.40. total came out to be 50.59+tax.

That's absolutely obsurd. If they offer me that much for 3 ps2 games I will just sell them on ebay. My friend gave them to me so it's raw profit, but still. GT4, FFX, and FFX2 should catch more than $10.

You should get more than 10 bucks. my FFX2 cost them 4.80. the other 3 games are DOA3, PGR, and silent hill 2. they gave me a total of 3.60 and my dvd only saved me a buck.

No there are no game shortages....I work for Best Buy and each store gets over 60 games each.

The fact that not alot of people have 360s still makes it pretty easy to get games to. But to end this thing, Stop going to EB or Gamestop for games and if you go to major retailers you will find all the games that you need.

I don't think preordering is necessary. EB Games said that if I preorder they would guarantee that I got my copy on the first or second shipment! That's like guaranteeing that whichever team wins the next Super Bowl is in the NFL. Don't be a fool waiting for a second shipment, just go down the street.

The only reason I go to eb is because I can walk there. I never pre-order, though.

holy shit this game is amazing! The lighting/shadowing is excellent. I spent half an hour just tossing nades at vehicles to see and hear them go boom!

I noticed when I was standing next to a building that my shadow on the building looked rather crappy. The rest of the graphics are really awesome and the gameplay is tight, but that shadow on the building from me was just not up to par.

I just walked into EB Games in Calgary, Alberta and was able to buy two copies(got two 360's at home) out of another 12 or so copies available excluding the preorders set aside.

Hey if you have the Fry's ad BB will price match them and you dont have to wait til thurs. I just picked up my copy today for the price Fry's was advertising the game for ($47.99).

The alternative to "playing right into it" seems to be not playing GRAW at all.

Think about it, if only (say) 500,000 360s are available in the US, they aren't going to press 500,000 copies of the game. They'll press only the amount they feel they can sell, which I would imagine to be the sales total of the highest-selling game so far.

If they underestimated the total sales, it's easily rectified, as the discs are simple to duplicate. But until then, many of those that didn't preorder are out of luck.

I know that when I went to EBGames to pick up my copy, the girl working there called every EBGames, GameStop, Software Etc., and GameCrazy within 50 miles, and every one of them was sold out. In addition, Best Buy doesn't receive their shipment until tomorrow.

My cost for guaranteeing my copy today? The interest I would have made on the $5 down by leaving it in the bank for the past month. I think that's worth it.

Well, I just got an email from Fry's ( Outpost.com ) informing me that my Pre-Order (w/ Next Day Delivery) is now a Back-Order and should be shippied within 30 days. Now, I know that the 2nd shipment will come in much sooner than that, at least I gd'd hope so, but, I mean WTF! While I'm pretty new to the actual gaming part of the XboX (360), I thought for sure that a pre-order would gurantee shipping on at least the release date.

Oh well...
