Didn't anyone even LOOK at my desktop?
Sorry CattyKid;

but it's awfully cluttered. But if that's the way you like it....rock on. I should clean my up too. But that's something for me to do on a rainy day.
I
DO like LuridSpectre's theme. Not necessarily the chick; but I like the taskbar and the window colors. Lurid; where did you get it?
Here is todays background....but I change it frequently.
Full size version
Doesn't anybody use
TweakUI anymore? For one thing it's a cool utility; but I like my icons "cleaned up" without the"arrows". Just my preference I guess.

In case you guys don't know.. even the simplest program like MS PAINT can resize those gigantic images to something more reasonable..
People keep asking me to add a filter to XS forums to prevent crazy huge pics from being displayed.. looking more and more like something I'll add..

I mean really. Come on folks; we all should try to excercise a little

lucky for me I wear a different cap than you. The art is still art, whether it's 3200 wide or 640. But I think we're gonna have people be a bit more respectful of our forum layout. Thos bastard wide ones complete fuck the layout.. and cause us all to scroll.
I got 19 and 21 inch lcds, and I still have to scroll for some..
So it's up to the people.. people can either start being smarter about how they post.. or we can make it a hard rule and find someone to stick around and smack people around.
it takes only a few extra seconds to use an app to make a resized version.

Nope its XP (thats why i said it, i thought people would think its Mac

). Nice to see someone liked it though, i get the good looks of Mac and am still able to run all my windows apps.
Running:
Mac Wallpaper (Aqua)
Windows Blinds (But you cant see that because i have no windows open, I'm running the same brushed skin as my desktop)
Icon Packer (Aqua 2 + Icons Ripped from OSX 10.3)
Object Dock
Desktop Icons Disabled along with the task bar.
And the Widdgets (Weather and the stuff in the bottom right) is Yahoos Widget engine. (used to be konfabulator)
But it wasnt free, Windows blinds and Object dock were not realy expensive. I cant even remember what i paid, i have had them ages.

A widget is just a small app ran on the desktop (basicly just JavaScript and XML packed into one file, then launched through a java runtime engine.), it all started with Konfabulator (now the Yahoo widget engine). After Konfabulator was released, widgets were adopted to the Mac OS and then more apps were released to do the same thing on Windows.
The reason i use the Yahoo engine is that samurize crashes, a lot, and because on samurize all the widgets are ran through one engine, if one goes, they all go. But with the yahoo engine it runs multiple intances.
Its true to say that samurize can do alot and is highly customizable, but the YWE is more stable and the widgets just look much better.

not much changed.. but I gave that Samurize a try again.. didn't like alot of the scripts and outdated stuff on their homepge. It's alot to go through. Started messing with the sample ini though..

.. and added what little I needed for my desktop. I was looking for a really simple RSS feed script/tool for samurize but didn't see anything I liked. If you got any recommendations for a clean Samurize 1 liner let me know.
I'll have to look at the Yahoo stuff.. seems people got alot of good to say about it.
