Hi guys I have decided to rip all my original dvds to my server PC then stream them to my xbox using XBMC.
They are all ripped via files not to ISO so I click on the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to play each movie menu and all just I notice some of my films are stuttering I am on 100MB LAN so doubt its a b/w issue.
Mostly the menu VOBs stutter anyway same but some films stutter pretty bad such as legend of zorro on the menu and movie quite badly anyone else experience this ?
I am just wondering if there are any settings I can alter or if its just because the DVD playing part is still beta.
Thanks in advance.

Where do I get the log from I am new at this.
I tried bumping up cache to full putting it to 0 and still no difference I am not sure if it was like that with older versions of XBMC anyone have the same problem ?

I tried playing RAW MPEG2 files over my network (100Mbit) but the xbox stutters all the way through it. I assumed it was a bandwidth issue.
1 Mbit per second equates to 0.125 MBytes per second
So with a 100Mbit connection you can theoretically copy 12.5mb per second.
So copying 4GB should take about 5 and a half minutes.
4096 / 12.5 = 327.68 seconds
327.68 / 60 = 5.46 minutes
That should be more than fast enough to watch a 90 minute movie in realtime. There is some overhead in the copying process and of course any other network traffic will slow that down, like SMB shares, etc. It should still have more than enough bandwidth to view RAW MPEG2 files though.

I play HD movies on my 360 over my WIFI network and that streams perfectly so I have ruled out b/w as an issue.
I notice that divx files when played it says buffering you then see a bar go up then they play maybe thats needed for dvds also ?
Just becoming a pain now streaming the DVDs via XBMC they stream perfectly to my other pc and play using theatertek so the problem must be with XBMC.

Tested with latest build.
It will stream some dvds perfectly and others stutter.
zorro 2
majority of dvds on menu movie.
The DVD stuttering DVDs will play fine direct from xbox dvd drive.

I think the problem is lack of buffering, when you adjust the cache on the settings it works for all AVI, WMV MPG etc but yet it does not activate when you play a IFO file or VOB so if there was a way to activate this in the settings in the next build then that should resolve all issues because the DVDS play locally fine.
