Hello,

i bought a xbox off ebay with it already been softmodded. i dunno what to do. it has evolution x dashboard at start up. it has no applications or emulations on it. i can go back to the M$ dashboard.

I have read most of the guides on how to burn xbox dvd's. i think i did it correctly. i burned the xiso with nero.

i just recently opened my xbox and replaced the Phillips dvd drive with a Hitachi one.

Games that i have purchased still works but burned games do not. Can you help me?

What program did you create the ISO with? A proper xISO rip using Qwix, etc?

Try buying better media. There is a guide here on what DVDs are best. The cheap ones usually don't work.

Try uisng flash fxp to ftp the files from the xbox then make the Xiso on the PC.
You can compare the files transferred to the pC with the files from the Xbox D drive

make sure that when you made your disc, you had a file called default.xbe on the root. Remember, the default boot file is d:\default.xbe

install a file manager on the xbox using FTP (like dvd2xbox, avalaunch, xtoolbox, boxplorer, XBMC, etc) and see if you see the files on the D drive when the disc is on there.

What I'm getting at is figuring out if your box cannot read the disc at all, or if the contents are incorrect.

I've had good luck with verbatim datalifeplus DVD-R - I've had the same disc work on thomson, philips, samsung, and the new ones too.

EDIT: oh, and with nero, make sure you finalize the disc, and burn on the slowest speed you can.

His problem is not discs or anything else.
The problem is he didn't make back ups of his games himself.
They are likely downloaded.
How do I know this?
Easy he can't get his Xbox connected to his PC to FTP see Here
