I took the motherboard out of a dead xbox, to look for a modchip, and I honestly just can't ID which one it is, if it has one that is, as it is a series 1.0 xbox, and it was modded with a very old chip, any help would be great!

Where the magnified image is, is where the modchip will be located over that. As you can see the arrow pointing to where that is on the motherboard.

if you don't have anything there (another tell-tale sign is a bunch of wires soldered in) then you probably don't have a modchip and may have a softmod

This shows one mod chip installed to give you an idea where it would be. Obviously the chip could look different if it were aq different chip. Also check my post in your other thread.

ok great!! thanks for the help, I'm new, and more than a little confused, I definitely appreciate it. So apparently she didnt have a mod chip, which makes sense, cause I remember when she got it like 3 years ago or whenever I don't remember anything about a chip. Cool. So is there a way to transfer it to my box sans chip? can I just hook it up to a pc or something? I tried hooking it up once, and it said error 5, which someone told me meant that it was unlocked, and now I just need to lock it to mine somehow?

You need the eeprom file from your Xbox to lock it with or it will not work. To do this you need to mod your xbox so the easy way out is buy a chip. You can then just stick it in the box and lock it no worries
