Full Version: Softmod On V1.6 Xbox Problems
I have the newer v1.6 XBOX that I would like to softmod. I have been reading the forums and I think I have a pretty good understanding of how the exploit works. My concern is that there may be problems during the softmod install on v1.6 XBOX. I have read that due to some incompatability with some install files the screen will go blank. Is this an issue with all installers? Is there a particular install that is better for v1.6 XBOX? i.e. SID v4 or NDURE v1.1.
The best softmod...Krayzie's Ndure v1.1...works with all version Xboxes, and I would recommend that. I have never tried SID, but I doubt it's comparable to Ndure. From what I understand, SID is the work of those lame HQ guys. I couldn't use anything they make. Anyways...you won't have any problems if you read the README. Just make sure your dash is up to date -5960-. I'm assuming it would be because it's 1.6. Most people that get a black screen are because of the use of Action Replay, and it is corrupting the gamesaves.
I certainly don't recommend SIDs for problems overall. But 1.6's can be modded fine

i installed sid4 on my box via the splinter cell xploit and i some how erased a bios and alli get now is a error 11.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll try the NDURE v1.1 install. BTW I will be using Action Replay to transfer the save. Is that going to be a problem?
