Ok, I was given a brand new X3 chip by someone (still in sealed pkg), and I sold it to a member on the scene here. He has attempted to install it into 3 different xbox's and gets a FRAG each time. 2 of the xbox's he tried it in had a working X2.6 installed via pinheader. He poped off the 2.6 and popped on the X3, FRAG. He also tried a fresh pinheader install on a 1.0 and got the same thing. Could it be a "bad" chip, or could it be something else?

try and boot it with a different bios. maybe he failed flashing the bios, and now it causes it to frag.
Rustmonkey
has he tried booting off of the chips backup by holding both the eject and power button at the same time when powerin on the xbox?

Bad chips are possible, ive had 1 or 2?

With an X3 there are many different bios configs so try the backup bios as previously suggested as well as all other bios configs!

If they all fail it could well be a bad chip, he could also have plugged it onto the pinheader the wrong way round and fubared it!

Well i'm the purchaser of the chip and I have done the power eject configuration. And I checked to see if I have the pinheader on right. Still same result. I've been at it for 2 weeks if not more. I think it is a bad chip.
