Hi,

I have a modded Xbox that doesn’t turn on anymore from the power button on the console, the only thing that makes the Xbox turn on is the eject button which loads the original MS Dash, even when it loads the MS DASH there is no way to turn it off because the turn off button doesn’t work, it’s like there is no electrical contact from the power button. I asked the people who modded the Xbox for me and they told me that there’s a specific problem with the motherboard (which is apparently very common) and that it would need to be entirely replaced in order for the power button to work again. They suggested that instead of buying a new motherboard I plug the Xbox in to a power bar and use that instead to turn the Xbox on and off. This method does work, but I was wondering how safe it was for the Xbox to be turned on and off with a power bar rather than the original power button?

Thanks for your advice.

I would try replacing the power eject pcb first

I had one like that once, just took the face plate off
undid the power eject board, put another one in, and viola it works fine.

sometimes the easy answer is the rite one.
