Hey, I was just thinking that someone should post a topic where people can post where they found they're good armour and weapons, and I looked,and didn't see one, so I am creating one.

So post here wiht where you found your good stuff.

I found a sweet blackwood cuirass, in I think Leyawiin, and I killed a guy in the blackwood company bldng, and took it. It is the best armour that I havefound anywhere so far.

is it enchanted? I like my armor to be enchanted so it raises other skills as a constant effect.

I wish we could wear more than 2 rings The only thing Ive liked thus far is the apron you get after beating the Painting quest. That, in conjunction with my 2 strength and intelligence rings, raises me skills very high.

I wish the aprons armor rating was higher but I dont mind the tradeoff, for now anyways. I hear what the grey prince gives you is good, Im going to finish that quest tonight. It better be good after having to put up with all these vamps and wolves down there

No, the Blackwood Cuirass is not enchanted, but it is better than the dwarven cuirass by 1 defence point, and it is the best ive come acroos so far. I suggest you get it if you can.

Couple things


There a blackwood Blade you get if you handle the situation on the Bloated Whatever ship. Basically kill the 1st 3 bandits then be nice to the last chick and youll get the blade.

The Gray Fox has a nice glass shortsword on him you can pickpocket

At the bottom of fort redblood or red something (its the fort directly across from the nocturnal shrine) theres a vampire patriarch that has a Dagger of Brittling


Each mage apprentice at the Arcane university has either a Dagger of Jolt or a Dagger of Pain


The head of the arcane university leaves his wizards staff on the dresser at the foot of his bed and you can pickpocket a lesser staff of flame from him each night.

PLain and simple learn to master the pickpocket. I did and Im literally rolling in enchanted weapons.

i like the akavari warblade i spent 3000 golds on. 1 hit kills hehe

ive never played one of these game before and i had been throwing my uncharged weapons down in the grass... didnt know i could get them rechaged at the mages guild... DOH!

that one akavari blade is like 5,500 or something..daaaamn, I was tempted to buy it lastnight but it would clean me out.

hmm lets see my best armor and weapons

both rings enchanted with 20% sheild

Amulet of helth + 30 health

Armor mostly ebony with + 30% cham and 2 peices of deadric with 30% cham

weapons umbra sword and for bows and arrows i got arrows of the north wind which hit 60 frost damage in 10 foot area and my bow (oblivion bow) hits 17 fire 10 foot area and 17 shock 10 foot area kills anything in one hit while sneaking (master sneaker)also master heavy armor master alcemey and master armorer not sure if any others


all together i have + 60% sheild 150 % cham and like 30 other stats With cham no one can see what im doing whenever i love it but sumppl think it ruins the game

yea, i just got a complete set of glass armour and enchanted every piece with fortify magica +50 (and all my rings and amulet), except for my shield which is light 75 ft (cant be blind). This is using sigil stones of course. i now have over 800 magicka and can kill most any thing with (fire-100 frost-100 shock-100) in 10ft. i can cast this spell 2x before having to recharge.

Alot of the weapons are crap in this game against bigger characters, so enchant your own daedric gear and weapons. I especially like using the Transcendant Sigil Stone (feather 100 points) on several pieces of armour. My total weight is usually about 100/800, which gives me plenty of inventory room.

a really good shield that i know of is spellbreaker, rating 17 and its worth 16,500 dollars or whatever they call that currency. you get it for doing peryite's daedric quest. you have to be level 10 and you have to just kill the 5 necromancers in a cave and its a pain but in the end the shield reflects spell 30%.

secondly, some strong armor and best weapon in the game, no joke, you have to kill umbra. you can do this whenever you want in the game, u encounter her on a quest. me and my friend got it when he was level 2. he used a money cheat, but all you need is 5,000 dolars. sfirst, no matter how you get ur 5,000 dollars, you go to Three Brothers trade goods (in the imperial city market district) and buy apothesis if you do not have it, i believe it is the easiest way considering umbra has some of the best armor and the best sword. you then have to go to Vindasel which is like a mauseleum, it is directly southwest of the imperial city waterfront across th water and along the road. to help more, it is near a bridge, then search along the western side of th bridge. once you get in there make your way to the bottom. Once you see umbra, the person and the weapon, You enter Umbra's room in a balcony/gallery area. Near the broken section of railing, it is possible to jump over to the narrow sections of ledge outside the railing. Although it may seem like Umbra should be able to attack you from the balcony, she cannot.she will not attack until you attack her. She is amazingly strong. take the apothesis out and either A) start zapping her while running backwards, or B) hide on one of the ledges or columns in the room because she has no bow and arrows. 5-6 zaps with apothesis should kill her, do not yield your attacking or she will use magic to boost her health like crazy. Once she is dead take her armor ad weapon, they will be named umbra's ebony cuirass etc., and her sword is just called umbra. it is a one handed sword that when your attributes are good, does 28 damage and soul trap for 120 seconds. if you have any wuestions, send me a message. hope i helped.

one more thing, all umbra's armor can be enchanted it is not the best armor but the blade "umbra" makes it all worth it.

Enchanting your own Daedric armor will be your best bet if your looking for sheer armor rating and prefer heavy armor. I added +10 strength to all my armor so I could carry a lot and, as a result, can beat down just about anything with a few blows. I stick with either a Daedric Mace or the Honorblade of Chorrol since it's weightless and still packs a good punch. Don't use two-handed weaps.

I keep a stockpile of many different kinds of armor and accoutrement's depending on what I'll be doing but the above mentioned is what I stick with the majority of the time. Been awhile since I've played but, IIRC, glass armor was pretty decent and fairly lightweight and it's widely available.

anybody looking for a free horse well if you go to imperial city stables and talk to the orc lady and just tuff talk her she will eventually give you a horse with armor its a good deal check it out.if you want good armor beat the dark brotherhood quests and go into the crypt at the end and she tells you to go ahead and take what you want out of the crypt its all yours so check it out there is some good stuff and even if you dont want it its all worth 1k and more so check it out

...Umm I have a couple of sets of daedric & glass...i prefer daedric for look, glass just makes me look like the green goblin or sumthin...If you want really good items get a horse and explore the lands...enter caves and caverns, usually there are very hard chests there so bring lots of lock-picks , there are also bandits - these guys always have the best stuff by far, and if your someone looking for a quick set of glass or daedric just go to the roxey inn north of imperial...Ohh - and my best ring so far is either my mundane ring worth 21000 gold or my favourite...the ring of skimming which adds to acrobatics and athletics as well as letting you walk on water permanantly , Very fun!

dudes,you all blow chunkies....jk. no but really, best thing to do in oblivion is this: step one: get acces to the arcane university. step two: enchant any armour peices.step three : make sure theyre all enchanted with chameleon spell 25%. If you wear all the armour then you be invinisble then work your way up to get the "Hatreds soul bow and arrows" best bow in the game!!!!!!!! 1 hit k.o from any distance!!!!!!omfg!!!!!!!

[b]if you guys dont have alot of money find/make a common sould gem with a lvl common or higher and use the dupe trick on it outside of a building. go to a blacksmith anywhere and sell them. i've made about 100K+ in about 3 min doing that.

for ppl who dont know what the dupe trick is.
get a bow and some arrows (about 20 or more if you like)
eq the bow and arrows. hold the attack button down and go into inv.
click on the arrows 3 times and it should say 'you cannot change weapons while attacking.'
then move over the the soul gem and drop it. depending on how many arrows you had EQ is how many soul gems will drop. pick them up and whala. 20 or more soul gems for droping 1.


you can do this to some armors, rings, weapons, and scrolls. or for ppl who dont like looking for ingredients.

me personally i have a set of full dadric all enchanted with str. and and umbra's sword ironicly called unbra
you can find these in a alied ruin somewhere after u find and kill umbra.


to get dadric u need to b lvl 20 and above.


for u light armor fans lvl 20 and above find bandit camps and kill the bandits to get glass armor.

I'm level 15 and you can get full daedric early trust me follow these instructions. I did a quest and got full daedric w/ a daedric longsword go in leyawiin castle and he will say do a quest for this mazoga in my castle do the quest kill mazoga afterwards in the castle and you will have full daedric and pay 1000 gold !!!!!!!

best thing to pick up first, the skeleton key, from nocturnal i think its a plus 40 to security. if your going to enchant things make sure you have a lot of money because you want good enchantments. Also wait until your a higher level before you go cave diving, you wont find many good things in caves and in aylied ruins so you shouldn't waste your time.AFTER LEVEL 21 GO ON A SPLUNKING SPREE.

Hey umm i got a coupleof questions, first for the Bloated Whatever ship is that a quest?? and if it is where do you get it?? Next, at the fort Redblood thing do you have to picklock anything?? and Last, HOW DO YOU PICKPOCKET................I know how but everytime i try i get caught does it need the sneak skill or the theaving skill......................IT IS REALLY HARD!!!!!!!

I found the best weapon was Mehrune's Razor, which is available under the DLC. It's a dagger which packs a helluva punch. Being the fact it's such a small blade, it weighs next to nothing.

hi mate i know how to get my hands on embony armor and a sword called umbra first travel south of the impireal city untill you reach a cave at the end of a split road(at the roads it dusnt matta wich way u go) any way a mage should attack u kill her and enter cave find a woman called umbra kill her(this is hard so save where u first see her and umbra sword is enchanted)when umbra lies dead take armor and sword p.s the cave is full of monsters and traps so be cautious p.ss im new to the site so i hope the info helps

Hey the best wepon in the game is the mace of doom it is almost impossible to get but I got it and this is how you do it first you need the wizard tower from the market place then you need to go to the second story and stand next to the niroot save and then go to your hard drive and delete wizard tower than go back on and all you should see us darkness look around untill u see a house once you see it start running and jumping at it sooner or later you will transport to it go out side and next to the fire will be the mace now if you want all the sigil stones in the game go back into the house with a tourch it helps alot now jump off the platform and grab the stone now run out the house quickly or else you will become overencumberd now transport to any city you want from there.
