Wow, I'd say those car models are better than PGR3. Can't wait for this baby to come out. Speaking of which, when's it due to be released?

MMO racing is sooo 2001 wink.gif

Well, I'm certainly not expecting this level of detail once you take these cars on the road, but they do look phenomenal none the less.

I hope that these are at least real-time shots, and not taken from some sort of "photo" mode like in PGR3 where it ups the details because it's a still pic.

Motor City Online, EA's last great game

MCO was the biggest bust. IT wasn't because it was a MMO racing game, but it really was hardly an MMO racing game but had that element they didn't quite achieve. It also was filled with huge bugs, cheat workarounds, holes, memory leaks. It was pretty bad. But the game had potnential. I think the game also was a pay to play. Difference between Test Drive and this MCO is this is backed by live and definately will not die out the way MCO did. I think it'll be huge. A def must get.

MCO was great, and yes, like any MMO, it did have bugs. The difference became EA. EA refused to fund the game or its developers after a point. The thing is also advertising. You arent going to bring in any new people without advertising. And there simply wasnt any for the game. It spread by word of mouth. The gameplay mechanics were really amazing, with a crazy amount of engine customization, especially for an online game, which i dont think TD:U will be able to achieve. The auction system worked great (most of the time), and there really were 1 of a kind cars.

Test Drive: U isnt a MMO in the sense of MCO though, since i dont believe its a truely persistant community (One of the features cut from MCO was driving around before races and stuff), but im sure it will find its niche. As long as it gets decent reviews, ill probably try it out.
amb7247
totally agree with you there. EA never gave it much of a chance.

I've never heard of MMO racing before. It sounds interesting.

It looks like you can make your own character: male or female. Well, I read some of the remarks on that page. One guy remarked, "Will the driving and parking be more difficult if you play as a woman?" I know it's a sexist remark, but I couldn't help but laugh out loud at that. In reponse to that question, another member replied, "now that would be attention to detail." laugh.gif
