so im a little confused as to how this works. if ur playing a backed up game, u obviously cant get onto live. im assuming this is because the backup is not signed correctly. so what im trying to find out here, is how i can take the signature of the original game (i.e a game i own, forza motorsport), and sign the burned copy, because isnt backing up so that you dont scratch up your original?

so as i was saying, if there already is a way to take the signature from an original game, and copy it over to ur backup, how do you do it?

and if i sound like a total dumbass right now, and this is something that i probably should know is/isnt possible, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
Fuji

an xbox game has 2 levels of security, the digital signature, and a media check

if you just make a 1:1 backup, the signature is preserved, but the media check prevents it from running off a burned dvd-r

if you patch the media check, the signature is invalidated, so it wont run (no, theres no way to sign our own apps)

a backup game CANNOT be played on Live
