Just got the latest OXM in, it has a demo for TimeShift on it...
I can't get but 30 seconds into the game due to the fact that the only area I can go from the area I start in has flames blocking it and no apparent way to put them out or pass through them. (screwing around with the time stuff doesn't help either).
Screwing around in the one area I'm in was enough to tell me that the graphics suck (very "last gen") and the controls just feel like a cheap FPS.
Overall it just felt like one of those FPS clones you'd find on a PC with the cliché story, average graphics and animation and uninspired game play.
If you were waiting for this title pick up OXM to try it for yourself spend the $5 now to save you the $50 later
this was the only demo on the 360 portion of the disk. The only other interesting thing was a featurette on Crackdown. The graphics of that game look REALLY BAD but the concept and game play elements seem really cool so I'm optimistic about that one.

Freeze time, and you'll be able to pass through the fire without harm. Then you can climb out of there and up to the street above.

hmm I'm pretty sure I did that but I just died when I hit the fire. Maybe I was just slowing it down instead of stopping.
I also forgot to mention that the audio was all messed up the first time I ran it and it nearly blew my speakers out...

I didn't have the problems you had with it, but after I climbed to the street above and walked a little bit, I completely lost interest in this game. I just had no desire to keep going further. That's how boring it seemed to me.

yeah after I got my ears blasted by unbelievable levels of distortion, I exited the demo, then restarted it, I saw the fire, tried one of the time shift buttons and walked into it only to die and have to wait through another painfully long load time. I did that two more times trying different time shift buttons and just got frustrated with with the load times I figured it wasn't worth trying again because the rest of the game seemed like junk anyway. Honestly I'd rather play Ridge Racer 6

The only reason to try this demo is to get the oxm points so you can get the unlockables. Apparently there are gamerpics to unlock... or so the cover leads me to believe.

i played timeshift on computer and it sucked bad
the visuals looked like 2002
it humiliates the unreal 2 engine that its using
plus atari which is the worst gaming company on the face of the earth is publishing it
DONT BUY THIS SHIT

yeah Atari does make good games still, the new test drive looks amazing...
they're also responsible for the popular Driver series, Indigo Prophesy which was FANTASTIC...
sure they make a lot of bad games *cough*matrix*cough*cough*dbz*cough* but they make good ones too.
You can't make any sweeping generalizations about game companies that large.
