I've wondered this for months and never seen it mentioned on here or in the game manual. What do the dogtags next to people's names on a COD2 LIVE game after the game is completed and you see the kill count and standings?

Well, I assume they're dogtags, that's kind of what they look like at least. I always forget to look, but I know it's not always the person with the most kills or the most deaths. So what's up?

It means that that person died. that symbol comes up when they are respawning.

Do you mean they were currently dead at the end of the game? Because I mean the very end of the game, so there would be no respawning. Such as in a 25 point game, at the end when they show how many kills and deaths each player got, and next to 1 or more names there are sometimes what looks like dogtags.

I guess that would make sense though. Since when playing multiplayer not on LIVE I think it's only one person that ever has the tags.

prolly just means they were dead when it ended

It does have to do with when a person dies. When you are seeing the dogs tags at the end of the game it normally means that is the person who died last to give the first place person the win. There could be more than one set of dog tags meaning somebody else died at the end. If you hit the start button during the game to see the stats you will see the dog tags telling you people that are dead at the moment.
