I've been using XBMC for several years with no issue (at least nothing major). I've recently made the change to have my xbox boots up directly into XBMC. The method I chose was to have the default.xbe and the XboxMediaCenter.xml file (with the proper "HOME" variable setting) in the C drive.
It boots fine and runs mostly fine except for 2 strange behaviours:
1. Usually the "FTP server" setting has the users defined as "xbox" or "test", however if I boot up with XBMC, the users are defined as "?0?" and "?-1?".
2. Some videos I used to watch no longer works (I know it's not a permission problem. see below)
For both these problems, if I launch XBMC from the F drive (same xml file and same default.xbe) then all are fine. I can play all videos and I can FTP into my xbox (coz the users are preperly defined).
FWIW, I'm using the build from GasGiver Jan 16 2006.
