I was just wondering if anyone had any sort of idea if there would be any major new features in 2.0?
Is so what?
Sorry if this has been asked or if i'm not meant to ask this

Well from what I have read/understand 2.0 will be everything you see now, but "stable", hence a Feature Freeze, so if you download and comile todays CVS its likely what you will see in XBMC 2.0 but with more bugs that the actuall 2.0. They arent going to impliment anything "New" cause then that would have the possibility of creating more bugs.

what we, Team XBMC mean by Featurefreeze is that we FOCUS on fixing bugs and not adding New features.
Now, don't start bitching as soon as you see an Added: line in changelog, it just pisses us off and it's with 99% probability NOTHING MAJOR

I must say, the XBMC "devs" are a touchy bunch. At least 4 times now i've seen people jumped on (including myself) for merely making an observation.
I understand now what you mean. "feature freeze" actually means bugfixing, instead of the actual meaning, which would imply no new features. I understand that having 50 people complain that your still adding features would get you upset, however, 50 people wouldn't be saying that if more appropriate language was used instead of "feature freeze".

You dont think it's annoying when ONE person starts bitching about an Added line in changelog ?
Now when "people" (term used loosely) do the same thing over and over it's even more annoying for us.
To answer the original question in this topic;
Current CVS is "2.0pre" MEANING nothing major will be added (or we will try our darndest to avoid it)

I bet no one would get upset if you snuck a samba server in there
