Dude, its high school, who gives a crap. Rumors come and go. One week they'll be talkin about you, then next week its someone else.

Don't let it stop you from talkin to some babes, and don't let interfere with your studies, which is what you should be mostly concerned about. Investing your time and energy building a rep in High school has to be the biggest waste of time, which could be used for studying. Once you graduate you'll most likely never see those people again, so why waste your time trying to prove yourself to a group you'll never have to see again.

No, it happens without thought. The word has become so commonplace in youth vocabulary that the negative meaning doesn't come from the "origin" (if it even can be called an origin seeing as it's not exactly an old word) of the word.

I swear to Christ society these days is obsessed with gays and the word gay. I noticed it taking hold when I was in 11th grade in 1998. Some of the kids in school would pretend they were nailing a male teacher when he bent over, crap like that. Everybody got a chuckle out of it. Now it's everywhere you fucking turn you here someone calling someone or something gay. What the fuck is so alluring about someone who has sex with a person of the same gender? Personally, I have nothing against gays, but Jesus, I don't want that thought running through my head all day when people fling the word gay around. More likely, I think the reason why people are calling you gay is because they know it's making you upset. Honestly, acting like you don't care probably won't work - some things just never get old to kids who have to behave like assholes. I can only tell you that highschool doesn't last forever and once you get out into the real world you'll find most people are too concerned with their own lives to put down others as a means of personal entertainment. It's when the realization hits that once you're out of highschool, it's rich ass mofos like Bill Gates and Donald Trump who are really hot shit, not the the guy who fucked the most cheerleaders at his highschool.

As everybody is saying, high school really doesn't matter in the long run. I'm 24 and I can hardly even remember all the people I went to high school with anymore.

But as for all of the people who are saying "worry about your studies" and "only worry about getting money when you are older" are missing the point as well as far as I'm concerned. High school is obviously the way most people get into a higher education and bigger money, but what about the kids who did nothing but study in high school? They developed almost no social skills, and probably feel like they missed a big part of growing up. You need social skills every bit as much as you need education.
