Yes! The PGR3 tournament is going on right now. However qualifiying is going to be tough. I can hardly break the top 500. You have to actually get in the top 64 in order to get the achievement.

WTF enough with the exclusive achievements already
BTW how much is that one worth?

It's good for 50. My advice is to hit up the next tournament at midnight pacific time whenever it happens.

I dont understand why that would help. The tourneys have 2 week qualifying period. so even if you made in the top 64 you could be bumped out before the second round even started. You just gotta be good!

What I was saying is that as far as getting the achievement is concerned, getting to it early is the best way to go about it. To actually stay in the top 64, you'd better do it all week long just to make sure you stay there.

so, do you just have to have been top 64 at one point during qualification? or do you have to end in top 64 after the 2 week period of qualification? (more likely,... also, i think that's what tonloc was getting at)

The Achievement description states:
QUOTE
Qualify for a tournament and play in the first elimination round
Which means that not only do you have to make it through to the end of qualification but you also have to show up for the first race.
Checking the MyGamerCard leaderboard I don't see ANYONE who's earned it yet, which to me says that, yes qualification must have ended and you must have competed in the first race.

Yes, you have to be a PGR3 god to get this! im sure all 64 will have the exact same time, which will be a perfect race, id be willing to bet that the people who can manual shift are at an advantage.

not always, There are a few cars who's automatic counterparts outrun the sticks in road race tests (the new Z06 actually, Also the Audi's with the CVT autos outrun the manual couterparts). Autos are often perfered in straight line racing as well because they can shift faster and launch easier.

ouch: North American tourney qualifying time is 54.1 sec. you get the Gallardo to drive, no kudos...just time. I tried about 10 times and couldn't get closer than 7 sec over at what i thought was my best.....so yea, this shit is pretty hard

I've been tryin to get this damn race for so long, but the closest i could come is 55.6 seconds. I watched replay after replay of the worlds best but i just can't figure out where to shave the seconds off. I think it all lies within that first S-turn thing in the beging, if you can get out of that turn in high 4th gear than ur in good shape.

I've had a run that started great, and a run that ended great, but never within the same run. I found that the first S turn can be taken at full throttle, but it can take some practice. Also there is a turn in the middle that can be taken at full, it is at a checkpoint. I keep bumping the freaking wall at the decreasing radius turn. I think you'll need to go manual and powerslide like god to get some of these harder ones down.

Wow, well how do you have to get in the top 64? 2 weeks? Well, I wish we could use one of the new cars.

you can'T use manual in the tournament

, the game forces your transmission to automatic, in the info. screen were it tells you the track, car, etc., it also says transmission: Automatic. So everyone is racing in the same conditions.... those who qualified are true gods of PGR....

ugg yesterday i tried for an hour. Within the first 10 min I got 55.6 and around 600th place. Then i tried and tried and tried and couldnt beat it. Ive tried soo many strategies. The only place you could improve a lot is the s corner. The fastest ive gone is 117 mph through it letting off the gas halfway into it and force upshifting to gain traction. I just cant manage to get through it not letting off the gas. The top guys can probably do it that way. Ill probably end up trying again today. Im just so pissed I am about 1.6 seconds away from 64th ahhh
anyone here make it?

Im in the same boat as you, i got a 55.8 and i just cant seem to better it. I think i got through the S-turn at 126 one time but i f***** up on the third turn so that lap went to shit. I can't seem to put a whole run together. I either start good and end bad, or start bad and end good. I cant put one whole run together. Try racing in beat the clock mode with the world's best ghost, it helped me quite a bit.

they're gonna keep doing tourneys right? i'm sure this achievment will get much easier as time goes on and more and more new games (racing games in particular) start coming out.
this is the first tournament EVERYONE and their MOTHER's are trying to get this achievement right now on this first tourney. give it a few weeks or even a few months and it should be much easier,.... i'd think at least....

OMG.... i've been sitting in this chair for 2-3 hours straight trying to get back into top 64.
Currently 33rd (54.03) on the 'Official Asian Regional'. My thumbs are swallon, eyes very RED and they hurt like hell!!
This is really tough! The quickest group would be from Europe! They're current qualification bar is @ 53.58! Bloody insane!!!
I'm going to give it a rest for now, i have a feeling i'm going to get bumped out again so will try again tomorrow!
