It won't let me get past this screen. This Xbox has never been online, the person who owns it doesn't even have high speed internet, much less a network adapter.

Any ideas? Or maybe someone can point me to the correct area for this posting and I will post there.

so you think the only way to get the "Please Wait. . .XBOX Live is Updating" screen to go away is to put in another hard drive?

Hadn't thought of that, it still has in the original XBOX drive that came with it.

Krayzie, if you're reading, what in the world is "sid?"

And just to tell me that I'm not the first person to get the xbox live update screen doesn't help me at all.
I assumed that someone else got it or I wouln't have bothered posting to begin with.

Your reply could not have been less helpful.
I need help, not someone to tell me that I have a problem.

If Kryzie is not reading, does anyone know what "sid" is or how it applies to my problem?
krayzie
sid is a softmod installer. and try coldbooting your exploitable game and load the gamesave to gain ftp acces. If that doesn't work do a search for hotswap like suggested.

Krayzie,
Thanks man, I will try all of that--I really do appreciate it.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, didn't mean to, I've just become very frustrated with my softmod situation. This is my first softmod so I am definitely a noob at softmodding.

BTW, I've already learned a lot just from the info in your sig, thanks.
