I finished getting my modchip to work and now I can't get on to XBL.
Yes I know I can be banned for it, but I know I can coldboot it to decrease my chances.
So could you tell me how to get back on to xbl

coldbooting does nothing if you use a chip, your bios probably has a live-blocking feature, turn the modchip off

Yeah, King is right. Disable the chip and make sure the hard drive is locked.

I turned the modchip off. It still doesn't work. How do i lock my HD? Is there anyway I can make it or any of the mods I made work on XBL?

I went into XBL on the MS dash and it says I can not run XBL with MOdified Xbox. I had it turned off and it still does not work. I would like my xbox to work normal agian. Is there anyway I can get a new Bios or fix the one I have now so it will work?

Where can i get a new eeprom and how do i use it? DO I get it in Xbins and If so what is it called and what part of xbins could I find it?

Its called a eeprom...and im surprised you haven't herd of it yet you have a moded xbox. Its pretty much the most important file in your xbox and you were supposed to back it up....Haha you can't get one off of xbins either. Every xbox has one specific one. Its like yur xbox's "key" to xbox live. It revolves around the marriage thery. You can find more info about it in the tutorials. So in other words unless you can use a friends or buy oen from someone then yea...you cna't go on xbox live anymore.

And those other guys were wrong. There is no "live locking" feature. I really don't have a clear explanation for it other than you gota get a new eeprom form someones xbox. And it has nothing to do with your harddrive being locked or unlocked either. But thats for another topic.

Can you not read? Please read a good tutorial next time. You wouldn't have need one until this mess happend. Originally you would have to backup your eeprom and hd key just incase you screw something up and then you can fix it. But now that you cannot go on xbox live then you need a new one now. ANd I suggest you not try and go on xbox live again if you get a new one until you like coldboot your xbox.

Yeah all the turorials I have read have only said I needed to backup my C and E drive.I can not find a tutorial that tell me to back up my eeprom.

Scroll down to the 4th point under "First a Few Notes". Yes I know its a tutorial for softmodding but it is still important to make a backup if you have a chip anyways.

Wait if you dont believe me then you tell me why your xbox is screwed up now and won't go onto xbox live? Please explain to me since you seem to know so much more than me?

Ok no need to get offended I just needed here. On the page you showed me it says" as soon as you boot into EvoX, use the backup utility in "System Ultilities" to backup your eeprom once again and then make another full backup to your computers HDD." I did use the back up utiility when I first booted into Evox.So does that mean i can still fix this problem?

if you can boot with your chip off, then your hdd is locked. if you get error 05, then you need to lock it. you can use evox to do this.

ON my xbox it says it can't run xbl beacuse it says its modded.Whats an error 05? And how do I lock my Xbox?

Im not using my mods for matchmaking just for having some fun with my freinds.

if you can boot without your chip enabled, then you DONT have to lock it so you dont have to worry about it.

If I can boot the regular xbox or xbox live without the chip? Because I can boot ther regular Xbox dash without it enabled I just can't use XBL even without it enabled it gives me an error sayin That my xbox is modified.

No becuase I just use my XBL account on my xbox 360 but it just doesn't wrok on my xbox.

This thread has quickly went down the toilet. Your xbox is banned, not your account. Apparently you didn't get educated enough before you jumped right into using XBL.

I'm honestly not sure about a Xecuter 2.6, but it's very hard to get banned with a Xecuter 3. But if everything you're saying is correct, you have 2 things to overcome.

1) You'll need a new eeprom. Look though HERE (For Sale or Trade) for someone that sells them. Make sure they have a rep as a good seller.

2) You'll need a new hard drive. XBL marries the two when you logon. If you're banned it knows the eeprom and hard drive. Without changing them both you will be banned again.


This is why it's important to know what you are doing before you jump in hog wild.

There are all sorts of threads in here that will help you, should you decide to deal with what you need to do to fix your problem.

Another easy way to get banned is using game mods. If you had any Halo 2 cheat mods on your box they may have detected them.

That sucks. I have an old xbox that I dont use any more. Can I use the eeprom and hard drive from that? I never used it on XBL or modded it, its just that it couldn't read the disc and forze up alot.

YES!!!!!!just get yourself a new eeprom and lock your harddrive to it and then you can play xbox live!!!!!!!! But we aren't alowed to talk about Halo 2 modding so that part is just sensless to talk about.

Ace you said before that I didn't back up my eeprom. But I went into c:backups/ and there was an eeprom.bin right there. So will this make it any easier for me to fix this problem? Do I still need an Eeprom.

ARRGHHHHHHHHHh!!!!! How am I supposed to know if you backed up your eeprom? Its supposed to be backed up on your pc not just your xbox. ANd im sorry but what do you not understand about YOU NEED A NEW EEPROM FROM A DIFFERENT XBOX!

Dude, you really need to visit the XBL forums to get a better understanding of what has happened to your box.

It appears as though you logged on to XBL with your chip on. When you do so, it bans your eeprom from EVER getting on XBL again. Usually the hard drive and eeprom are married. If the drive was locked when you attempted to get on XBL, then that will need to get replaced as well.

You can use the eeprom from your other box, but it's going to be a pain to get out. You'll have to mod it just to get it. Buy one from the link I posted above.

If you took the time to read more you probably wouldn't be in this situation and you wouldn't be frustrating people nearly as much.

Again I suggest you visit the XBL forums and start reading up.
