i did it i finally fot the ftp thing working i was just about at wits end to give up

Let me also the one to ask "did you back up everything onto your computer"

alot of people will only back up there epprom, there have be more than a few times I played with a .ini or .xml file and srewed it up and used a back up to restore it to original working order.

Cool did you make sure your eeprom.bin file was in there? You definatly are doing better than about 50% of the people here!!!

Well done, and seeing as you backed up it means you did actually read and follow some of the guides which on it's own is a miracle as soo many people come in here and dont read the guides and then ask for help or just ignore the advice when we tell them to read the guides.

Also now you have a backup you'll be able to restore ur box should anything go horribly wrong in the future (let's hope it doesn't) and you can now advise other people to backup as well as many don't and them complain that they dont have their files when something does go wrong.

I guess I should probably back up my 2 box's as well as at some point, as they havent been done for about a yr.
