Just picked this up last night after playing the demo, and I have to say, it's alot of fun! I haven't touched the single player yet, but the online part is definately worth the money. The controls seem to be right on, and even for a controller n00b like me (used to mouse and keyboard), I was able to get in quite a few kills. I mostly played as a sniper (btw, much better than PC, as single shots kill on 360), and even took down a helicopter with a single shot by shooting the pilot!!! I nearly woke up the kids I was so happy hehe.

The graphics seem pretty good, although the shadows are a bit jaggy, and they "vibrate" when you move (weird effect). I have to say though, I like the graphics on 360 better than the PC version.

Sound. This is an area where the game truely shines. It's hard to describe, but hearing a gunfight going on in the distance, and being able to tell where it's coming from thanks to surround sound is very cool. It's like watching/listening to a good war movie.

Only problem or complaint I have so far, is it doesn't seem like people are utilizing the microphone very much. If anyone is talking regularly, it's usually just one guy that talks his mind, regardless of manners, or vulgarity.

All in all, so far, great game.

Yeah it was pretty fun online, not so much single player. The honeymoon is over for me, I'm trading it in today for the new FIFA game. Good luck getting very much feedback on this game, I think most people that peruse this site, get their panties in a bunch anytime an EA game is mentioned.

I'm just glad to see someone else enjoyed this game. I love it. It's all I play. I get kinda tired of the anti-EA people, they are getting as bad as the Sony fanboys.

The reason I began hating EA was due to Command & Conquer Generals. Getting that game to run online was the most retarded thing I've ever seen. The complete trouble you have to go through to configure your router is insane, and should not be an issue at all. I spent countless hours configuring and re-configuring my router setting, port forwarding and such and still wasn't able to connect. I finally turned on DMZ for my PC, and it worked, but that was ridiculous.

I think there was another game that did the exact same thing. Might have been Dawn of War.



But...I still love Battlefield 2 for the PC and 360. Beginning to like it better on 360 by far though. I mean the sniping opportunities alone is worth it. PLENTY of places to snipe from, and visibility and draw distance is awesome!!

Yeah the game wasnt alot of fun until I actually started trying out all of the maps. I loved the map called backstab. The helicopters are so much fun but they are too easy to destroy. I would buy the game if they took out the snipers laser target because it is impossible to stay in the air with a sniper in the area. I got all of the online achievements except for four by cheating with people on the Xbox forums

Oh ya I remember now in the PC version you were able to release flares from the helicopter to avoid you from getting destroyed. Is there flares in the Xbox 360 version?

Dunno, I never get a chance to use the helicopter. The little kids are always running their own teamates over to get there first

Definitely no flares in the 360. I play the game a lot though and do enjoy. But I would have to agree that the pc build is tuned and balanced much better than the console version. Not to mention possibilities for 32v32. That's just craziness.

I get kinda tired of EA putting out half ass games.

Haha, I know what you mean about the microphone. It pisses me off because when you press back it shows who has the mic, and usually your whole team does. I think these people are too stupid to realize that you have to hold X to talk. BTW you should add me as I just bought this today and I'm looking for someone to play. What's your gamertag? I totally agree that the 360 version is way better than the PC or Xbox version. To me the graphics look way better. BTW I know you guys have your reasons for not liking EA, but if EA was such a crappy game company then why are they the largest and most successful in the world?

It's just that EA's Servers SUCK and M$ needs to address this. If I can't connect to the servers, I am not going to call EA. I am going to call M$ , because I pay M$ $70/year for live, not EA. So M$ needs to insure QUALITY XBL expereinces are in place.

If you try to watch TMN or HBO and there is no signal, your calling your cable/satellite company right? Exactly, even though it is possible the broadcast is down.

Cool man. I'm not totally sure how it works, as I don't really have any friend's that play on the 360, but my gamertag is Vhayne (same as here). I mean, I know how to add friends, and send messages and stuff, but how do you enter in the same game/same server/same team? I'm all for it though.

People leaving when your team starts getting intto a groove. Sadly people don't stay and make a push back


This game is soooooooooooooo much fun when your team is back into itss own base and then takes over the map and the other team is cornered.


Also, some of the achievements are downright hard. EX: Kill 10 people without losing the multiplier without deat online....

Thats 85% of the enem team in like 45 seconds..... yeah, good luck with that.

i just got to playing this game today (had it for 2 weeks) and so far it seems ok.... the real test will be 2 days from now when my 47" samsung HDTV arrives.

side note: it is not a good idea to buy 5 games at a time

Ï feel like I have to set some things straight here. BF2 is NOT developed by EA, EA is just the publisher. DICE is the developer and has been since the first game and they are not owned by EA, at least not for the moment. Another game by DICE is for example Rallisport Championship and that was publlished by MS Games. So my point is that you don't have to be an EA-fan if you like BF2.

Man i love this game!!! I just got it, the other day, and man it is fierce right from the off, with parachuting in!! I must have been killed about three or four time before i realised what was gong on!!! Woooo hooo

Downloaded the demo from XBL. very good, Its the next game im gonna buy. Its a vast improvement over the orginial xbox version. If they do release content for it......European pack please!!!!

Very fun game. I love it, have been playing it daily. I'm a huge PC BF fan, playing all incarnations of the game for hundreds and hundreds of hours, and the 360 version, while very different, didn't dissapoint. I sorta suck at it though.

My biggest complaint is team balancing. Teams are almost always uneven by 2 or more people, and that should be simple to fix. Just do mandatory team balancing.

I still love the game, but I do have 3 complaints.

First one has to do with the players more than the game itself though. Map selection. How many more times can we play Backstab?!?! There are SO many more maps that could be alot of fun and challenge, but everyone and their brother want to play Backstab over and over and over and over. Gah, let's see some varation. And that god awful dark map!!!!! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! do people insist on playing that map?! I can't see a freaking thing! I mean, seriously, are there some nightvision goggles I'm not aware of or something? It's weird. When I'm about to respawn (waiting out the final 2 seconds), I can see decently, but as soon as I spawn, it's like the gamma gets turned down or something, and if it weren't for the red shapes to signify the enemy, I would never see them at all lol.

Killing shot "visions". When I'm a sniper, and I've found what I feel to be a good spot, I'm forced to relocate after ever kill, due to the fact that the person I just killed gets a vision of my exactly location! Now, I can understand the usual hit indicator, but geez. You quickly run out of places to shoot from by relocating, and are pretty much defenseless when you run up on someone while moving to your new spot. The PC version didn't have this, but people would still find the snipers. Either they would get smart, see/hear the shots, or spot them with the UAV. It'd be nice to see a patch change this someday.

And the red square shape to indicate enemies. This is a bit too easy. In a firefight, you should have to stop and think for a second to make sure your target is friend or foe. Perhaps giving both sides a bit more of a different look might help with this. Seriously though, you're in a tank, driving down the street, when someone runs out in front of you....do you look at him to decide? Or do you just see the red shape and fire?
