Then I guess Xbox Live Arcade isn't for you guys.
I luv retro gaming and Street Fighter 2 is still my favorite game of all time.
It's up there with Tetris in terms or replayability.
Aside from Halo 2, there just aren't many modern games like it.

Been cool if they added more sprites and more details to them but just totally 2d flat looking though. But like more motion. However, I think this game is cool for an arcade. Just hope lots of people play it online

I’m probably getting it depending on price. I know if its around Geometry War price that’s a to buy for me. Its like SNES but with online

, Nintendo Revolution I think has that also but I guess 360 is 1 step ahead with capcom games. Yea but I guess it would have been nice if they cleaned the graphic a little more.
But i think it still looks grade for an arcade game. Now they should get mortal combat. Not the very first one but like the 3rd one. 1st one was good, 2nd one was good, 3rd one was better just becuase of graphic wise and how much more character you can choose.

There isn't nothing wrong with 2D if it's beautifully made or follows a solid visual design. You guys prefer modern 3D animated movies to older 2D ones? If it works for what you're trying to achieve, it works. People still play Streetfighter in arcades, I have friends who prefer them. In the case of SF on XBL, it's showing its design age more than any limit of 2D.

Yeah it could be the low frame rate of the video capture but it did seem a little faster.
Definately faster than the old school Street Fighter Champion Edition ever was.

When they were picking their characters at the very beginning those stars at the bottom of the character select screen increase the speed of the game. From the video, it looked like they had their turbo settings on 4 or 5

Woaw, I'd like to see how you're going to pull that off!
Right now my best option is to convert my Street Fighter arcade sticks to play on my X360.
(I'll be doing this some time next month)
But gaming on my 360 with a Sega Saturn pad? It's just as nice, if not even better!
I have to agree with you and Crobar,
some of the best gameplay experiences can still be found in 2D games, whether the games are sprite or polygon based. It really doesn't matter as long as the gameplay is in 2D.
If you disagree then try comparing any 3D fighter's gameplay with Street Fighter 2's classic gameplay.
The latest Mortal Kombat with Ultimate Mortal Kombat?
But it goes way beyond fighters!
How about the latest Castlevania for the Xbox with Castlevania S.O.T.N. for the PS1.
Neo Contra vs Contra III.
Shinobi what ever it's called for the PS2 vs Shinobi 3!
Those games don't even belong in the same sentence.

nope, those stars are how much or how little damage your char's attacks do... in sf2 turbo for the snes (and id assume genesis) youd put in a code at the capcom screen and youd be able to add or subtract stars from the main menu (arcade, vs, options) which would increase or decrease the speed... sf2 is just crazy slow and id wager that this game is at least the speed of turbo...

I agree with a lot of this. I miss the 2D days... I've recently been playing a lot of GBA via emulator and it kicks ass. The colours are bright and nice, the gameplay might be "dulled down" but it doesn't have to mean simple (Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga is a good example of niceness). Bring it on, I'd love to see a Super Mario World type 2d platformer for the xbox, with all the enhanaced 2d goodness an xbox can provide.... why does it all have to be 3d now, why??? 2d != inferior (just different)

Mortal Kombat (1, 2 & 3). The 2.5D Fighters (2D fighters with 3D grafx) are Killer Instinct 1 & 2. Almost forgot Guilty Gear (the 1st 2).

I want to finish my Xbox 1 case swap before I dig into the controller mod, I also need to kick this aweful Oblivion addiction before I can get ANY work done
Anyway I already have all the parts I need I just need to design the circuit and then BUILD it.
Basically I'm using the innards of a busted Wireless controller a Saturn cable extender for the port and some (what I assume to be) fairly basic circuitry.
It works on the same premise as that NES controller conversion that popped up but the Saturn controller protocol is simple enough that I can convert it's natural cable output to a button map. Infact the protocol is SO simple that building your own Saturn Joystick from scratch is even easier then what I'm attempting

you notice the break down of Achievements at the end
12 World Warriors - I assume beat the game with each character
Perfection - I assmue complete a match with a perfect victory
Bonus Bonanza - ? something to do with the bonus rounds where you smash a car or something
World Chamption - I assume complete single player arcade mode
7 Stars - ? no idea
Hyper World Champion - Complete single player arcade mode without losing a match
Perfect World Champion
I Got Next - ? no idea
10 Online Matches - self explanitory
50 Online Matches - self explanitory
10 Online victories - self explanitory
???? - he only showed 11 of the 12, but he said there was one for making it into the top 100 on the leaderboards so I assume this is it.

right, 7 stars refers to the difficulty. i hope that means you only need to finish the game one time on 7 stars to get that achievment. i'd lose all my hair using every charachter.
i'm a little baffled by some of the posts on this thread. street fighter anniversary has been available for some time on xbox. am i the only person pissed off that it was never added to the backwards compatibility list? i own street fighter II versions on the genesis, snes, gba, 3DO, and xbox. i shouldn't have to buy it again on 360 when street fighter anniversary should be backwards compatible...but i will anyways.

i think it will likely be 1600 points.

I am pissed as well, but I am such a big Street Fighter fan that I can look past it. I own more copies of Street Fighter then I care to count. I hope for BC on Anniversary Collection so I can get back on Third Strike...I hope that Hyper is only about 4-800pts and most of all I hope that there is still hope for Street Fighter 4.

as much as I'd really like to play this game on my 360, if it's so much as 1 point over 800 I wont be getting it.
Also what the hell is taking them so long, I know people who could port this game in their sleep, the video we watched shows what looks like a 100% working and complete game and the guy is like "it comes out soon, so within 3 to 5 months"... since when is that "soon"
