Ok I think I have to flash this thing right?? How in the hell do I do that?? I have read FTP, or bios, or slayer......which one do I need and How do I flash them to the HD or chip?? Then the next question is when and if I am able to put the bios on my X-box how in the world do I set it up to play games files?? I am sorry for the Question but I am lost on this stuff and the more I read the more I am lost

yes you need to flash the bios. Use the "search" button there are plenty of ways you can achive that. The bios are flashed to your chip not the harddrive. Once you do that you will need to install a dashboard, apps, etc. Slayers is probably the best solution for that.

Has anyone showed you this link yet Pson? <link>

Words of advise...

go slow. don't be in a hurry, and don't get ahead of yourself. Be patient.
The reward is better after a long struggle.

steps
1)buy modchip
2)install modchip
3)flash bios
4)install dashboard
5)FTP emulator/apps/games
6)play

everyone of these steps has complications. There's lots of different ways to do everything. Don't worry though, if you read lots and are patient, you'll be able to handle it easily.

steps 3 and 4 should be done at the same time. Steps 5 and 6 can wait.

For step 3: You need to find a bios that's good for what you want. Look here <link>I know it's confusing, but read all the features on the side, and find what you want that way. Green=yes Red=no

With that chip, SmartXX, it has an onboard os already. This will make flashing easier. You can flash with a CD-RW(or DVD+r), or even FTP.

For step 4, you could get a dashboard, and put it on a CD-RW, and copy it that way or you can get an
"auto installer" like slayers or AID

I highly recomend you start with "evolutionx" dashboard. It's the most common, and you'll be able to get the most help. (once you get more advanced you can switch to somthing more complicated)
EvolutionX is straight forward and easy. Scrolling menus. It's a good place to start.

________
So find a bios that will work with your chip. (size and compatibility)
Next get Slayers or AID.

Yu are the man...Thank you greatly for all your help. I have one more question and it a funny one that I am sure I will read. The dashboard thing is that a program or a hardware item??
Thank you I will be reading the link and checking everything out

Yea, that is a little funny.

A dashboard is like an OS. Like windows or linux. It's a base program that will let you run other programs.

It's mainly there to help navigate you to what you want to do. eg: play halo or splintercell... or play emulators...or watch a movie.

You have to have one though. And again I highly recomend you use evolutionX.

Dashboards can be found on an autoinstaller
