Story is, buddies xbox, softmodded. his motherboard crapped out, but now his hd wont lock.

When i browse the hd with MidnightCommander I can see the eeprom, but it wont let me copy it to the floppy drive. then theres a txt file that shows the hdkey and hdd lock/disable password.

question is, can i put this in manually somewhere with a different program on the bootable disc. or something?

my friend could care less about the stuff on the hd, but i was personally hoping to recover a few things on there that would take my 56k 4 or 5 days to download. lol.

you can make a new eeprom using live info (see tools section on X-S mainpage) and the hdkey

Try using Xplorer 360 Beta 4 to get the eeprom off the HDD.
