Full Version: Igr Question....

Well, IGR works fine when playing off my HD, but if I have a CD in it just resets the CD. Is that normal or should it take me to dashboard, and any suggestions on what is wrong?

Also, when I boot with a disc in, I would like to go to dash anyway. Is there anyway to do that? I have spent the past hour searching through the newbie forums for something on this...no dice. Hope someone can help!

It's not Reset-to-Dash. It's In-Game-Reset. It resets the Xbox. If there's a disc in the drive, it gets loaded, just like when you power on the Xbox. That's the nature of IGR.

EDIT: I think EvoX's IGR might reset to dash...I dunno.
SSSSSmokey
I also asked, is it possible to not load the disc if one is in the drive and go directly to dash?
Xeero
Could've sworn I already answered you. Maybe with EvoX. I use X2's BIOS implementation of IGR.

You havn't answered my question either time in fact. Thanks for the help and all, but please read this one carefully.

How can I boot to dash if a disc is in the drive. Forget all IGR. I don't want the disc to boot. Go directly to dash. No disc. Disc bad. Dash good.

Thanks for any help!

Hehe

I asked the same question yesterday

People have been saying if the game is on the HD with the X2 IGR it would reset back to the dash
I assumed it would do that too if the game was on DVD but it just resets the game to the beginning
I asked if that was normal too but didn't get a sure answer

I did try IGR on a DVD movie though and it reset back to the dash

Hmmm...

My temporary solution is to just boot with Eject, and leave the tray open all the time, then play the games off my drive. Then when I press power it closes automatically. It isn't a GOOD solution, but it works ok for games on the drive.

In your Evox.ini file change:

AutoLaunchGames = Yes

To:

AutoLaunchGames = No

Then the games won't boot unless you tell them to.

However, this will not stop the Xbox from booting a disc that is in the drive before Evox boots up. To stop that, you can probably find special BIOS that will change the boot order.

Tip: if the evox IGR is on, and you have IGR bios, IGR will not work

Wait... What are you asking?

If there is no disc in the drive when you do an IGR, then the Xbox will go back to the dash. So you don't need to keep the drive open if you're just playing off the HDD.
