After getting delayed a bunch of times, Namco finally decided to cancel Frame City Killer. Namco made an official statement on their website. The game is canceled because it didn’t meet up their expectations. They game already didn’t show up on this year’s E3, and now you know the reason why. We still have a nice ytmnd tribute for Frame City Killer though.

good riddens i say. even though some aspects looked good, the majority of the game just felt very last gen in gameplay and made no good use of the unreal 3 engine.

Thank goobly-jeebies. People were raving about how Namco was set out to destroy the 360 with deliberate garbage like that marketed to the Japanese market. Apart from those couple crazy shots with loads of people the actual ingame shots were ridiculed everywhere.

good, the less garbage the better

Steamline that 360 release horde. I mean, with Stranglehold and Crackdown, why even bother with this game?
corkinator
heh, not a surprise at all.

Whenever they released pics I'd comment here and say how bad they looked (worse than a DC game) yet there were always quite a few who said it not only looked good, but would look amazing with time.

Right...

Embarrasment successfuly avoided!
Deftech
the guys at epic had to be saying "wtf did you do with our engine?!" "how could this be so fugly with all that power at you fingertips?!"

hahahaha

I tried to be optimistic with the the title but graphically it was just bad...

heck look at that pick they put in the article:
IPB Image

... most PS2 games that look better then that.

if the game play was as bad as the graphics it was aiming for a straight release into the bargain bin.
Tripme
god....those graphics remind me of that sim copter game....gross
Altima NEO
Its like dreamcast graphics with bump mapping and maybe some specular

waay to low poly for anyones tastes
adfinder23
Maybe they'll release it for N64. That is, after they improve the graphics a little bit.

At one point?

Yes, the very first point, when it was announced it was using unreal engine 3.

And after that, I was the one who *started* threads showing recent pics and saying how fugly it was.

Is that seriously an actual image of the game? Holy hell if it is.
amb7247
Im almost positive it is. yOu shoud see the texture of the brick wall. The two sides where the corners meet doesn't even match the bricks placed at the corner.
incognegro
why didnt they cancel ff12 also!? grr.gif

I remember when I saw the trailer for this game a long time ago, and I'll never forget how it made me think of a ten dollar PS1 budget game lol

Everytime you shot someone, it was the EXACT same (and only) animation where they flew back as if they got blasted by a rocket launcher (meanwhile your shooting them with a pistol) and they fly like 50 ft back.

I said to myself "Wow....I can go play Largo Winch or something on my ps1 and get that experience" lol

At least they are doin us a favor by never letting experience the crap that would have been Frame City Killer lol
