Rocks. Name one metal band that can compare.

Not a big fan of In Flames the vocals are rather faint and shitty in my opionion but I guess Dragonforce is comparable since all they do is rift like In Flames.

...well, I wont go into it, by 'compare' you are asking for people to list bands they think are as good or better, I really do not like In Flames a whole lot (though I will say the song Leeches rocks). Asking us to 'compare' other bands is a matter of opinion. And I'm my opinion, there are LOTS of bands better than In Flames.

I like them, but there are far too many bands to compare to. So I won't even try to list them.

Yea, I just never posted in the music forums before and thought it was about time...

in flames is amazing, but i can name a few bands that are better without much effort...

Glad to find _someone_ else that likes em, hehe (both bands that is). Everyone I know (metalheads) think Trivium ISNT metal enough, everyone else (non-metalheads) think its WAAY to hardcore metal. As for Sonata Arctica, just glad to see someone else who's HEARD of them.

Even though In FLames is awesome Children of Bodom rocks pretty hard. As well as Killswitch Engage

I fear that I must now retract my statement. Saw the on the Unholy Alliance tour. They were fucking drunk n stage again. Also, live all their stuff sounds the same and their singer is an arrogant prick.

i have met anders twice, and have never picked up on a hint of arrogance..

Trivium and Soilwork is pretty much the same. Blindside are very good to, but not really the same.

Ramstein, im not sure why people like since knowone knows what the fuck they're talking about and words repeating you, you hate, you hate me.

Here is some news ramstein i do, i hate, i hate you.

They're saying "You, You have, You have me." If you listened and translated the whole song (properly) you would realize its about wedding vows.

Reroute to Remain is an album ron In Flames thats really really good, I love the song Free Fall. One of my favorite!

some other great songs from that album is Cloud Connected, Dawn of a new day, trigger, black & white (much better then michael jackson ) they have done some really great albums!

i prefer the old killswitch then the newer cd's.but the new stuff is still sweet.

I really like Rammstein and I go through the trouble to look up their translated lyrics. I happen to think Du Hast is easily one of their worst songs. As was said before, the words are supposed to be ambiguous between "I have" and "I hate" as poetic device. Just because you dislike the repetition of one song, you shouldn't discount the band. Some of their lyrics are incredible.

Oh, and the only band that can compare is Insomnium.

I met them at OzzFest 2005 and talked to them for a good 10 minutes. I kept telling them that I had been listening to them alot recently and they seemed pretty blown away/humbled. They were the first band up on the main stage and I was the FIRST person in the pit. The second stage was just finishing so alot of people missed their first couple of songs. They mostly played from "Soundtrack to your Escape", my FAV.

Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Trivium, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Arch Enemy, Blinded Colony, Amon Amarth, Throwdown, there's a start.


By the way, Sonata Arctica is freakin awesome.

Saw these guys at Sounds of the Underground a few years back, they did alright, but Trivium kind of stole the show.

Still pretty badass, I got a signature from someone in the band - I forgot who though.
