I've been searching around for a quide on wxripper. I've heard it will keep from from having to reflash your xbox drive everytime. I also have a spare usb dvd that would be great for the hot swap. So I guess my question is where on earth can I get a guide to useing wxripper.

You need to have a DVD drive that you open up so that you can remove a DVD disc and replace it in the drive without hitting the eject button or the emergency release.

So when you are ready,

1) Eject tray for DVD ROM
2) Put large movie in drive (find something that is at least 8gb)
3) Close TRAY
4) let the DVD movie spin up
5) run WxRipper
6) select Hotswap/STOP SPIN
7) Go into the open DVD rom and pluck out the DVD movie disk (NOT HITTING EJECT)
8) Place in 360 GAME
9) Select Start spin from WxRipper Hotswap/Start Spin
10) Select Hotswap/Find magic number
11) Go to File/start dump, place name and dump begins

resulting ISO needs to have ss patched in as well before you burn it. Use the "Xbox360 SS Merger v1.3".

P.S. All this info was in forum posts. You just need to look for it a little bit.

hey, i just ripped Fary Cry and cod2, both seem to be exactly 7.00GB

is this right?

or have i done it wrong, seems kinda messed up that both games are exact same size

Its correct as any iso you rip with wxripper will result in the same size as your swap dvd movie...

hey, the disc im using is 7.08GB, should that be enough or will i hunt my collection for a bigger disc

might end up making a 9gig dummy file and burning it to disc lol

Is anybody else getting an I/O error when they try and swap the discs? I am following all of those steps to a T and when it starts the dump the top line gets to "2048" then the drive has an error and stops dumping the disc. Any advice would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!

I am ONLY taking a stab at this.. does wxripper need the .dotnet framework installed? dunno if it would even give you this error if it wasn't installed . just a quick thought.
