I'm planning on doing the firmware hack today and wondered if there was a list of working rips...just want to backup my own games and not waste $1.80/disc finding out a clean rip won't work.

I have(all NTSC-U[USA]):
Quake 4(+ bonus disc)

So far, I know for a fact that DOA4 and GRAW both work. I haven't tried other titles yet. I will later tonight so I'll come back and update you.

what do you mean by "working rips" ?

Working rips = Iso's that you rip yourself with xtrm0800.bin f/w.

the term 'rip' usually refers to an iso that has been reduced in size by the removal/downsampling of videos. Your terminology is slightly loose there pal but i know wot ya mean.

as far as im aware of as long as you rip the games using the xtreme firmware and apply ss files correctly all games should work.

Or i could be talking shit! who knows.

I usually refer to a rip as a 1:1 copy straight off the original disc...since the data is "ripped" from the disc. And a "dvd-rip" as one that is downsampled, etc.

...all depends who you're talking to I guess.

They all work if done correctly.

Just make sure you use a DVD over 8gb in wxRipper for the larger games.

My oblivion copy did not seem to work. I backed up my other games and they all worked though,

I may try oblivion again, but i dont wanna waist another dual layer And i dont wanna risk damaging my original, specially of that game. Anyone had luck with oblivion?

I'm copying my Oblivion now. I'll let you know how it goes. BTW it's been an hour and I'm only at 50%, this is my first copy, so I'm not really sure if that is normal, lol.
