Anyone understand the potential legal issues surrounding the contents of the SS files and the responses etc?
If they contain no copyrighted code do we start a database?

How can they not contain copywrited code? The whole disc is copywrited as is any section of its work. Sorry, but they are illegal.

SS are like serial keys.
It might be legal to distribute this in some countries, but certainly not in europe or n-america.

I agree, they're exactly like Serial keys, just embedded into the disc so as to not annoy the users.
The firmware is the cd-crack and the SS is the serial.

serials are unique to every copy of the game bought... SS's are not.. therefore they are not EXACTLY like them
