Well i Had both xbox's softmodded, well he wanted all the stuff on my HD so we attempted to Clone it using xbox hdm and yea he hit the poweer cord and yea didnt work, so now his hard drive wont UNLOCK / LOCK it says its locked but xbox throws the locking error and i cant unlock with the HD key that previously worked, but the master password worked, XBOXSCENE, so I was trying to do it with that, now that stopped working I dont even know why either, well theres absolutely nothing on the Xbox hard drive and for some reason wont unlock, any help here would be great, did like the boot sector get messed up or something whats the deal??

You might be better off getting another hard drive because locking a hdd with an incorrect code can kill it for good.

are you fucking serious wow what if i know the code i locked it with?

You should be able to unlock it then using an unlocking tool but you must know the lock code.

It depends on your current position. If you have the correct hdd lock key, you can use your modchip which should autodetect the mobo hdd key to unlock it. If you used another tool or locked the hdd to another mobo, the only thing you can do is get the key to that mobo.

Maybe the drive's security state is frozen.

Here's a big question ... Do you have an HDDinfo.txt file handy? If so you can probably build an eeprom with LiveInfo just for locking/unlocking purposes to use in conjunction with XboxHDM's locking/unlocking utilities.

EDIT: About the frozen thing, the only way i know you can get past that is use the above method, but leave the IDE unplugged til you get at the 4 screen option of XboxHDM plug the IDE connector in at the 4 screen option of XboxHDM.

Try a differant PC i have a PC that would see locked and unlocked drive but when i want to lock and unlock them it took some messing with. Then i tried a differant PC and works great.

ok i have tried a bunch of crappp omg it just keeps getting worse i have the HDD kay printed off from way back, it worked fine before but blah after this n that the HD wont unlock not even with the password XBOXSCENE anymore, the master password...........how can i jus re format this bitch ahd take it back to factory, i have xbox hdm and slayers restore disk, please help, i will pay
