A couple of questions for the BB and the Dev Team of MC360 in regards to custom backgorund images.

Q1: Firstly will the dash support custom backgorund like what is seen here:

IPB Image

And how are they applied.

Q2: What image file formats are supported and what size should an image be to be used as a background within MC360 ?

Q3: How many images can be used within one theme at a time, my guess would of been 4 images.?

Q4: Im really keen to start preparing some theme packs for MC360, is there any advise you'd give to people wanting to do this..? Such as folder (storage) structure for themes and so forth.??

Thats about all I wanted to know...Good luck with MC360 for the 6th of June 2006.. Lets hope BB and the Team can make the date!!

Yes, MC360 supports custom backgrounds.

They are applied through the guide blade.

Any standard image type should work, be it jpg, png, etc...

You can use one image per blade, including the guide/dialog blade, which makes 5 total.

And I have no idea about theme packs yet.

Anything will work, just not too huge. it resizes them.

What about 1280X1024 would that be too big.....What I dont want is ugly pixelated images..so if it resizes them wouldnt it be btr that you use the right size or a slightly bigger image than what the skin sizes all images too??

slumberpod77
yeah thats entirely too large. you don't want them to be larger than neccessary because it'll make things slower than they need to be. generally 720x576 is the size of the big background graphics XBMC displays, isn't it?

So if you're using a standard aspect ratio wallpaper, you probably just want to use 800x600 or 1024x768 for MC360.

1. Yes, obviously as that is a screenshot of MC360.
2. All formats of file type but any image over 720x576 is a waste of memory and will seriously slow down the skin.
3. 5 Images, you have Xlink, Games, Media and System and then the Guide Blades/Dialog blades.
4. MC360 doesnt apply themes per folder setting etc, you just manually choose your images, this way you have more control over customisation which is what we want.

Thanks for the Comments, we will make the date, even if we come crash landing with no wings, wheels or tail, MC360 will be downloadable on 6th June 2006.
