Hi all I have a Logitech wireless Xbox Live headset and I want to replace the LED on the part that plugs into the controller. It's a really tiny bi-color SMD, and I know I sure as hell couldn't solder it. I did see a picture in one of the posts on here where someone had changed it to blue (same headset). If I could get some help on this it would be appreciated.

I do have one idea, taping over the SMD with electrical tape, and soldering a 3mm LED onto the +5v and ground coming from the controller, then just point it where the SMD shines, would this work well?

That should work, but remember to put a resistor in there aswell so you dont burn the led out / your eyes

just put the led where the original one is, soldering isnt that hard i just started last week and i havent messed up once.

Lol I know soldering isn't that difficult, but these are some pretty damn tiny points. and I don't have a very good iron. If I do it my way I can switch back to the old LED easily if I want.

I can try and find the camera and get some pics of those solder points if you don't believe me.
