Did you fuk with any of the xmls or just straight ftp over?
what you should do is a complete fresh install. I.E delete XBMC or just have your ftp client override all the old files with the new ones. should be ok. I had that once before when I forgot one character in ONE xml file. scares the shit outa you though! lol

I just did this too. I deleted EVERYTHING, reinstalled, and am still getting this error. I messed with the XBMC.xml...not sure why a clean install isn't working.

Thanks IE7, wrote a long reply but it didnt load.
Malik saab im having the same issue, discussing over here
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=518640Things i tried:
- Not messing with shortcut file but putting everthing at root of C.
- Tried putting unmessed xml files straight from T3CH's rar
- Deleted TData and UData face008's (though i have them backed up)
- Tried manually creating a blank guisettings.xml under userdata, no help.

I fixed this--here's how: I had two files, one called TEAMxbmc.xbe and one called TEAMxbmc.cfg. I renamed them to what my bios boots (evoxdash.xbe and evoxdash.cfg) Restarted & worked fine. Thanks, Crash83, for helping.

http://manual.xboxmediacenter.de/wakka.php...lsetupv2&v=1dmvmake sure you got your xboxmediacenter.xml file inside the XBMC folder.

I got mine to work finally!
Here is what i did,
- I had already copied XBMC folder into: F:\Apps\XBMC\
- Copied "XboxMediaCenter.xml" to root of C
- Renamed "SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.xbe" to "evoxdash.xbe"
- Renamed "SHORTCUT by TEAM XBMC.cfg" to "evoxdash.cfg"
- Edited "evoxdash.cfg" and changed it to "F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe"
Is it turned out, i was not renaming the cfg file to point to the right path on F instead of E.
Enjoying mc360 now.
Im using duox2 chip. Don't know what bios im running. I did make an emergency cd with a dashboard with ftp access in it in case of future accidents. So it saved me a couple of times already during this experimentation. Thanks for all those who contributed to my knowledge.

Whats up with all the evoxdash.xbe?, all I do when I update is drag and drop the XBMC folder over.
Blackbolt
Jun 7 2006, 04:11 PM
Thats because you probably dont boot XBMC first.
And if you do then your Bios is looking for the default.xbe in that folder, like mine.
Some people dont have this option and so have to put files on C:\ to boot xbmc off E or F.

I then Deleted XBMC Folder and copied new one
It then worked fine
