i updated using a ftp to xbins on the ftp browser on my xbox then i downloaded the rar extracted it and changed default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe and finally rebooted can anyone tell me if thats a good way to update my dash?

did you try the autoupdate built into UnleashX?

i know some ppl have had problems with it, but dont type anything in on the server screen
leave it blank, turn on the auto-update, then click check for upgrades now.

the Ip address's are built into UnleashX, it should connect , download and install the update for you.

Some people are having problem using the Auto-Update feature.
