What's bullshit is my cable tv channel that's carrying all of the games has a "sister" channel that you have to pay extra for, they shows the games live. The basic channel will only show the encore presentations.
Luckily there's a couple other channels that show live games, but they won't show all of them. Just the "good" countries.
I think germany will take it. France will go far this time.(hehe) And watch out for sweden to suprise you.

A goals a goal.
Played well in the first half, then lost it due to the heat, apparently.
In the league stage, points are everything.

Yeah, this is a great game. I just took a quick break... commercials. You forgot to mention that Trinidad is playing with 10 men!
EDIT: Now, we must wait for the inevitable American (I know, I'm American and so are a lot of you... but) to come in here and say, "Soccer is not a sport!"

Great tournament so far. Trinidad & Tobbago game was very entertaining. I'm glad to see the 1000-1 underdog come out with the tie, they deserved it.

Yeah, I definitely agree.
Great game... Trinidad had such a great opportunity and a fantastic shot, too... right off the crossbar!
Would have been nice to see a W, but oh well, right? I can't believe the underdog tied with 10 men most of the second half.

America just got out-played. The Czech's were so much more agressive on offense, and their defence didn't give up an inch. Americans quit after they gave up that first goal, and it was just downhill from there.
USA was hyped up a lot by those Nike commercials, as well as all the coverage from ESPN. Their not as good as they are supposed to be this year.
I think they'll be lucky if they can even get a tie with Ghana.

Couldnt agree with you more. They didnt really play like they wanted to win. They got beat to every ball, passes were off, defense was letting up the whole time not challenging anyone. It was all around bad. USA has really got to step up their game if they expect to advance.
On the side note Italy won 2-0. Would have liked to see them tie Ghana just so USA has a little less pressure. But maybe itll be a good thing for them.

Alright, I need to vent.
I knew soccer (football) was a sport that is bad for players diving and faking injuries. That being said, I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to watch any more games. These guys are just rediculous. It seems like every play there is a guy down rolling around like he broke his leg, then after the referee makes the call he's up kicking the free kick. Give me a fucking break.
I think they need to make the rules harder on people who fake injuries just to sway the referee one way or another. I feel ashamed that I still play this sport, if this is how it's done on the highest level.

Faking an injury is misconduct and necesitates a yellow card. Or, at least, it is supposed to.

Yeah thats true man, i dont like argentina for that. I used to know this guy from brazil, i asked him once how they trained over there and he said " Well we train normally, but we learn how to fake injuries".....yeah lol. Japans game really pissed me off, k this guy fell, the he holds his leg like his dying, then he saw teh ref didnt call a free kick, so he gets up and keeps playing.

I can't recall off the top of my head someone getting carded for faking an injury... but can think of dozens of occassions where I would have given a yellow.
But, I am only a lowly Northern Valley Youth Soccer League ref...

You have NO idea how many times I've wanted to do that. I broke my hand in 3 places playing goal.... then tried to stay in (saved the shot, though

. I like telling that story

). Needless to say, this was a VERY poor choice.
And I can't even GIVE cards

. I tell you, you'd be quite surprised at some of the fouling that happens.
But yeah, there are a TON of "injuries" at that level.

Germany will win the World Cup. They have been dominating. England, Czech Republic, Brasil, Italy, and Spain have a good chance of winning but I like Germany the best. That's why my choice is biased. Podolski baby. A great player with Ballack and Klose. They will win.

You are lucky. I get to watch it on my 19 inch tv. yeah baby. Big pimping. It's gonna be a good match but I'm leaning towards Italy more. I don't think USA can put the game against Czech Republic behind them. It'll affect them. If they do perform good, then they have a great chance of winning but if Italy does perform good as well, I'm taking them.
