What's that you ask?
Create a skin that users would choose to be there default skin even in fear that it won't be supported in later XBMC builds. Just as another member pointed out they've always stuck with the default skin bundled with XBMC due to the lack of support from 3rd party skin developers.
Secondly, we have to give props to XBMC developers for getting us this far. For without jesus there would be no Christianity.
Now that that's out of the way; I've got a couple of ideas and questions reguarding MC360. I'm gotten pretty quick at navigating with XBMC but when I attempt the same in MC360 it locks up. I'm not sure if this is due to the size of the images. I'm not using BMP files, that would be insane. It seems to load the pic each time for each blade. Which I understand, but is there a way to store it in some sort of cache file or something.
I don't care for the 360 but I will hand it to M$, they know how to create a dashboard/OS that is dummy friendly. All of my friends have trouble with PMIII. The main reason I think is the lack of instructional information such as the nav menu that's at the bottom of MC360. Such as "Y Add to Playlist". This is just plain genious; yet so simple.
I do enjoy a little KAI every know and then but I would prefer dedicating a blade to my files/file explorer or even the weather. (Speaking of which, the options don't allow me to change from celcius and Kilometers.) Could it be possible to allow one blade to be determined by the end user under appearance?
I love the wallpaper capability. Image and appearance is so crucial in an end product. Such as taking the time to create album art and game thumbnails as opposed to just a listing. People freak out when they see one of my 350 album covers more so when I showed them just a list of artists. They can relate to it more, IMO. Hence the reason MC360 is so successfull.
However; when I go to choose an image for display with a blade I can't see the mini thumnail very well. But when I go to my pictures and view the image then pan over to custom wallpapers it shows up in the preview pane as if I should be able to add it but I can't press ok. If this is a feature in the works then cool, that's all that needs to be said about that.
Back to album art for a second; the visualization is great and all but MC360 lets me see it transparently. Good idea, but if I want to see the album art in the virtual CD case that you created, (which is brilliant), I have to view the full screen visualization. I think it would be nice to see the album art of the current song on the left under playlists as well as the now playing pane. (Would it be possible to skip to the now playing pane from any window by pressing the "black" button and not just within the music pane.)
And lastly, not that I use it because I am happy with 720 but 1080i isn't supported. Well at least on my TV it splits MC360 into 3 viewing panes. (PMIII works on my TV in 1080i).
That's all I can think of, but honestly that's about it. There are some issue with the game save manager but it seems that's being taken care of. This is a great addition that I had previously had to use a script for. Speaking of which, there is a great lyric script that I use to view lyrics of songs that are currently playing. This would look great under playlist
Thanks for an awesome skin and I appologize for the long post.
