Anyway i though i would chip in with a thought or observation you may call it on the events since 666. Happy 1 week anniversary!!!
First off, as much as they are probably sick of hearing it, gotta say a big well done to BB and the team for a cracking skin.
Now then, since it has been realised i have got myself some cool wallpapers and some icons, and thats about it, rest of the time just happy navigating this awesome skin. But to be honest, I do think BB may have created a monster!!!! ;-)
I look at the mods, the fixes and all the work sparking up all over the place as a result of the skin, and they are pretty damn cool, from simple things like the theme creator to more complex projects like the whole marketplace blade idea thats currently ticking along, they are all cool and exciting and i think to myself, i gotta get a piece of that.
However, then I read further and see some of the problems and am glad I dont download and mess with my skin. I am noticing a couple of fundamental problems which are confusing myself and doubtless others. Mainly, people are firing fixes out that have actually already been fixed by the official team, and have either already been realeased or will no doubt be done in the future releases. Not only does this make it hard to have an accurate changelog or an idea of the progress, but also the fixes people put out may create new bugs on the next tech release and then people with have whole new problems which others wont have and it will all end in madness!!! Just a thought anyway.
Also, I am loving all these mods, it is what the scene is all about, but the skin is only a week old, and already there seems to be lots of versions flying around and its hurting my head! ;-) I cant decide whether to mod or not, I know the kai issue seems to have split users right down the middle, i think i will just maybe stick with official releases for now and see what happens, Maybe a suggestion though not sure how possible it is but some of these mods are cool, but they do seem to be strewn all over the forums, any plans to host mods on the official site BB, at least that way they can be properly logged and any which are submitted which you have already covered or you plan to in the main release could be rejected.
Anyways, thats my thoughts one week on, main thing has gotta be a big thanks to BB and the team for the new lease of life you have given my trusty little box, and I hope this moster is growing the way you want it to!
Thanks again!
