Today, I finally worked on the Wallpaper Tool.

So now people can stop releasing Wallapapers packaged in XPR

What it Does
Lets You Browse to a Folder with wallpapers in
-Sets the wallpapers

Why
No need to indivual set each
Now no reason to release xprs with just wallapers
Now you experience the real themes as well


How it Works
You Select a folder on your HDD

Halo\ << Heres my Halo Folder
Halo\wallpaper-guidepanel.png
Halo\wallpaper-Games.png
Halo\wallpaper-kai.png #notes this is for both kai or the extra window
Halo\wallpaper-Media.png
Halo\wallpaper-System.png

Changes:
It now supports
Halo\wallpaper-System.jpg
and
Halo\wallpaper-System.gif

(eg all Files can be either jpg, gif or png)
Notes: Gifs are not reckomened as they use the most memory

So you have your folder with the five pngs correctly named and when u select the Halo folder it will use the wallpaper in the folders

The Future
Possible Features for Future
- Wallpaper Pack Downloader
- Ability to Select a zip and it will extract and set it for you

Should be out in the next release or two.

Sounds sweet. 2 questions.

1. Will it be compatible with .jpg files?
2. Could you add an option for it to use filenames 1.jpg - 5.jpg? Just renamed all my wallpapers to use with that .bat file posted a few days ago. I would have a ton of renaming to do. lol

would you like a little BAT that renames your files from 1.jpg -> 5.jpg back to wallpaper-guidepanel.png -> wallpaper-System.png?

cause that would be an easy BAT

let me know...actually, i'm gonna build one now for people in your same position. Honestly, I read that post, looked at my 400+ images, and said...forget that. I'm building my own BAT. And now, 24 hrs later here we are. I must say I'm amazed by the movement on these threads. Some really great work out there gals/guys. Keep it up.

PLUS : "Will it be compatible with JPG?" --> i remember a post a while back that said to just rename it to PNG and it should be fine. I'm guessing PNG is the filter, but the engine is smart enough to MIME sniff it.

This is actually a package with the following.

Test.Wallpapers.[JPEG]
Test.Wallpapers.[JPG]
Test.Wallpapers.[PNG]
[x.jpeg].to.[y.png].bat
[x.jpeg].to.[y.png].[NO_BACKUP].bat
[x.jpg].to.[y.png].bat
[x.jpg].to.[y.png].[NO_BACKUP].bat
[x.png].to.[y.png].bat
[x.png].to.[y.png].[NO_BACKUP].bat

You will notice that there's a different BAT for each scenerio. This is intentional so that you can start the BAT, and simply Drag & Drop, Drag & Drop, Drag & Drop, etc. The BAT will keep asking for the source folder until you leave it blank...then it'll exit (once you hit ENTER).

My suggestion, make a couple copies of the .[JPEG] folder above, and test this multi-folder process for yourself.

Well i was going to release my Pack2 tomorrow
but i think i'll wait for the wallpaper tool to be released. .PNG .JPEG etc..
I'm sure this tool will get alot of use.

1) Yes it will be incoporated into MC360.
Thats the reason i made it.

2) Sorry there won't be a option to set the default folder, but i will put this on the possible feature list.

Shouldnt be that big of a problem cause i thin most of the guys creating wallpapers will just name it that way (i surely will...) and you'll just exraxt the zip file to a specific wallpaperfolder...

SPENGLER, I seem to be having a problem, I'm using the [x.jpg].to.[y.png].[NO_BACKUP].bat and I drag and drop the parent folder (holding the 1.jpg etc but nothing happens. It shows the path in the app and just sits there. If I hit enter the bat closes. Am I missing something?

To see the original thread that started people renaming their files to 1.jpg -> 5.jpg, click HERE.

To see where i first posted the UNrenamer file, click HERE.

BAT UNrenamer is for people that were using the very first BAT release of the XPR Creator that required your files to be named 1.jpg -> 5.jpg to work. My BAT release had a smart filename checker to determine what files where what.

To use it, it should be as easy as 1.2.3.

1. download & extract it
2. double click it
3. follow onscreen instructions (note, after drag & drop, hit ENTER...sometimes twice)


....if you get no warnings, and the CMD window just closes, run the BAT from withing CMD directly, and you will see any error messages.

Currently it does .png .jpg and I think .gif but I'm not sure on gif files. but .gif sucks anyway so don't use it

Just great..........i'm so stupid....i just spent alot of time renaming the jpeg formatted wallpapers to pngs..........

No worries, i added jpg supprot as well

Just use MS Digital Image Suite Library to convert them back to jpg but jpg to me sucks compared to png
