Today i bought an external usb 2.0/1.1 box in order to connect an external hdd to my xbox....
the problem is tha neither the MS dash nor the UnleashX dash formats the hdd, thought they recognise the hdd.
The MS dash pops up the message that the united that has been inserted is damaged....and the UnleashX recognises it as unformated unit...and doesn't let me to format it....
I've also tried using the xbpartisioner, but find the external in the list...

ANYONE who knows what to do or can help me....???

I believe this is due to the fact that the Xbox sees the USB HD as a memory card.

yes...normally this is the way that the xbox recognises the usb storage devices. But what you say is a fact and not a solution or the reason... sleep.gif

Unless you want to hardwire the External HDD as a "slave drive", there is no way to do it.

Anything patched through a controller port is concidered a peripheral, not a basis.
Controller/Memory card/MP3 player/Keyboard or Mouse/Food Blender/SmartFridge = Peripheral
Hard Disk Drive/CD/DVD Drive/other large piece of circuitry (that uses LOGIC schematics) = basis.

In short, if it can think for itself, or think at all, it's a basis.
If it ENTIRELY requires user input (like, "copy" to memory card), It's a peripheral.
