The demo is out for PC on fileplanet and gamespot. It should be only a little while before its on the marketplace.

i couldn't get the pc demo to work, I downloaded it from 2 different sources also. Kept getting a windows error.

ive been playing the demo all moring on my pc (amd dual core 64 bit 4400, 2 gig ram, 680 gt oc, 21 in lcd) and i am blown away so far. if its better on the xbox were in for a treat. graphics are great, the portals are really funky, you can shoot thru them. also the running on walls and falling to diffrent planes can make ya a bit dissoriented. cant wait to try it on my 55 inch

yeah honestly, this practice should be illegal, or very much avoided. It's false advertising, sure it's free.. but I had squared away a piece of my wednesday to play this, now I will have to wait til prolly' sat. FUCKERS! ASSHOLES!

exactly i understand that a lot of people are pointing the finger at MS, but i dont think they are the ones that put out the ads, isnt it the publishers of the actual game just like they are the ones who put out ads for the retail games? the quote i posted says its not MS's fault but people still need a scapegoat. shit happens, and any one of us should understand by now that nothing is gauranteed with gaming. if ads can have the wrong date for an actual game, i see no reason why it wouldnt happen for a demo as well.

I gotta agree. I mean, it just worked out that I had today off. Like many in this thread I wanted to spend a chunk of it checking this game out.

I can understand the amount of problems that anyone in the game industry faces, but that is why the PR hustlers should SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I like knowing ahead of time whats coming but demos and the like should not be hyped up when thier still fucked up.

well not to directly point a finger at MS, at least not their technical people but I can think of so many things that came out much much later than orginally told by the PR people. and some that still havent come out. So theres something going on, and maybe the PR and techies should talk more often or something to give some more realistic dates.

umm a GoW demo has never been announced or mentioned by anyone at MS or epic, Mark Reins from epic even pointed out how they wont have a GoW demo out soon, and maybe never.

a demo that was announced and still not released yet could be chromehounds which was supposed to be released with the other E3 demos a few weeks ago.

I believe sega has stated that the new release date for the demo was the 21rst of july? not sure though....

if true then that would be really stupid considering that the full game is supposed to be released in a couple of weeks.

I'm just starting to think that with the speed that information spreads on the internet, and people misinterpretting things quite often, that we as consumer's blow these things out of proportion getting excited and building the hype on it.

I rarely (probably because of the restriction on my net access at work) see these rumors of demo dates, etc firsthand.

Normally I see them on the message boards, and feel like everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

i know what you mean, i see very little first hand. the people that do get all worked up about it are pretty spoiled with this whole system. it's flipping free, they never used to give demos out for console games like this. i know they had the demos bundled with some xbox 1 games and such, but i'm talking about ease and accessability that has never been easier. i love them, they've saved me money on games i didn't like and have caused me to buy a game or two i wouldn't have normally bought. m$, i'm sorry, is doing a great job with the 360 thus far.

Bill Gates' #1 thing against pyracy has been to make people WANT to buy things, before trying to combat it with different securities and such and he's winning me over. people should be happy they have such a system and before somebody tells me, "no no omglollipopshorts, we pay $50 a year!!!! for this service" no, no we don't, we pay $50 for multiplayer gaming, just like in xbox 1, the rest is all gravy. it is an ingenious service that makes them more money with all their "points" like their own country that translate to dollars and cents but at the same time adds to the wonderful array of possibilities for the 360.

kind of fell off topic there, but what i'm saying is, wait for the damn demo, it will come. if u can't wait, play one of the other great 360 games...or hell, even go outside for a change.

prey demo kicks some major ass, I can only run it on medium settings but it is so GD trippy nearly impossible to remember which way is down

yeah ive been playing the demo on my pc, the portal are really weird, but i dont understand their purpose, i mean i do but half of the portal are like these floating time warps. the other half are just like a random crate sitting on the ground that you have to crawl into. youll see once you start playing, still allot of fun though.

Thinking about just downloading it on my PC and running it with my 7900 gtx's and hook up a wired 360 controller and play on the LCD I usually play on and see how it is. It's as close as the 360 demo as I will get.

the demo runs surprisingly well, and wait till you hear the sound track playing during parts of the game! it kicks ass.

oh and if flight simulators make you sick, dont even bother with multiplayer =)

Just been playing the demo. Not to sure about depth but graphically this game is astonishing when running in full on everything!!!

When you start to go through the portals and walking up walls it really starts to get good.

I really wanna see how this looks on 360. It should be a really good comparison.

demo kicks ASS. i cant wait untill the 360 demo comes out because i know my 6600GT isnt doing this game any justice. multiplayer made me kinda dizzy untill i got used to the layout of the level. one time i was walking on the ceiling and shooting up (err down or w/e) at the guy and he was going insane trying to find me. also i LOVE the portals. absolutly amazing. love shooting nades at people through them

multiplayer is absurd, in two seconds you forget which way is down. Instead of most MP FPS's you just have to know a simple layout in 3d, you really have to play this one a lot to have any idea where you are.

just ran thru single player again, 1280x1025 aa, EVERYTHING set to max. its sweet looking! george brousard said it looking like monday as of right now. he hopes anyway.
