Hey gang I modded my xbox but havent yet insatalled a bigger harddrive. I have Evox installed and tried to install a game on the hardrive. I read where you need to use f or g drive but I cant get to them in evox to format them. I went into setting and they both show yes to use them and they show up in flashftp but they donot show up in evox to format them. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and if I cant use the f and g drives then which drive do I put the games and apps folders.

You don't have much room left on the stock HD to add games, as you have found out.

You need to get Xboxhdm and read the tutorial. Print the tutorial so you can refer to it during the operation. It is a relatively easy procedure, but can be daunting at first.

Make sure you buy a hard drive that will lock. I buy Maxtors from Staples when they are on sale and they work good. The drive I recommend is the Western Digital WD2000JB, a 200gig drive with 8 meg cache.

Since you are modded, make sure your eeprom is backed up and copy your C and E drives to your PC. You will need these files to build the new hard drive. Copy them to a CD and keep it in a safe place. You don't want to lose the eeprom. That is what locks your hard drive to your Xbox.

What did you use to do the softmod? If you used Ndure and chose the .67 option you will have the oportunity to build an F and G. If not, you will only have the F drive. If you didn't use the .67 option, your F will only be 137gigs. If you want more than that, I would suggest redoing the softmod with the latest Ndure.

or you know, they don't have to be in the F, or G drives, as I have Halo 2 on my retail drive, just put it in E:\games\, and clear out some unused game saves and DLC(downloaded content), and you should be good to go...
