Xplorer360 Beta 5
Posted by XanTium | June 27 09:52 EST

A new version of Xplorer360(info), a tool to read/write on your Xbox/Xbox360 HDD and Xbox360 Memcard, has been released. What's new/fixed:
* Datel Driver support! Xbox 1 and Xbox 360 memory cards that use Datel's xbreader.sys / usbio.sys drivers should now work fine.
* Full / Improved Xbox 1 memory unit support - multi-media block transfers used, great speed and compatibility boost.
* Drag and Drop support with windows shell.
* Improved Backup / Recover functionality.
* Bug that sometimes prevented backups from being recovered to their original drive fixed.
* Xbox 360 drive recovery now skips config sectors. The Xbox 360 hard disk drive has a unique signature in its starting sectors that would prevent standard SATA hard drives from being used in the Xbox 360 console, based on the sector count and serial number, among other things. This also prevents the use of different images on drives with different serial numbers. Xplorer360 now skips these sectors, so that data can be exchanged between drives without disabling 360 compatibility.
* Improved file / folder rename functionality.
* Improved Xbox 360 hard disk drive detection.

Does this mean that people can now pop in a larger sata drive in the 360. And also will the 360 still see it at the 20GB or would it see it as the full, lets say 100GB if I put a 100GB sata drive in there.

nope, it just means you can use a disk image from another 360 hdd on a different one then it was made to. My friend had the same problem without realizing that the hdd information on each image was unique.

There is still protection in the (bios?) that prevents anything from a standard 360 20gb sata drive..this application will not change that.

So i'm guessing if MS ever makes a bigger hard drive that they will have an update to make it support something bigger then then 20gb
yaazz
no they just need the firmware on the hd to give the xbox correct information

120% fake for 360 this is original xbox and a xbmc 360 skin

So can you use this in conjunction with the Sata to USB Cable from teamxtender??

http://www.teamxtender.com/

So that you could transfer things like NCAA Rosters over to the 360 after you download them off the internet?? Would this work to do that with the Sata to USB cable??

Anyone verified this point does it actual allow for a larger HD to be used and seen by the 360 as >20gb?

I found the solution...

Taken from... http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3817

The good news is that Xplorer 360 does function properly with the Transfer Kit from Datel. You just need to make sure you DON'T install the drivers from the Datel disc. Instead, when plugging in your Transfer Kit for the first time and being prompted by Windows about drivers, point it to these INF files [goto the link above for the link to the proper drivers... it is about half way down] (after Unzipping them first - files supplied to us by William Gonzalez again, special thanks for all the help!). Then get Xplorer ready and enjoy. If you had installed the Datel stuff before reading these lines, chances are you are too exciteable, but chances are even greater that there is a way to troubleshoot the mix-up. Just go into the Control Panel of your OS and remove the USB device. Then insert the Transfer Kit to be prompted by Windows about drivers one more time. When you are, install the correct drivers in order to run Xplorer smoothly.

I am having issues with Xplorer360 (all releases). Whenever I try to insert an XBOX1 save the program will crash. I can enter the folders fine but not the files. I am using Datel's XSATA. Datel and 360gamesaves.com have not been helpful in reslolving this issue, so I am wondering if anyone here can help me. Or if not is there an alternative to Xplorer360 that doesn't require modding of the console?

Thanks!

I have recently been apart of Xbox360GameSaves.com and have become pretty familiar with connecting your Xbox 360 memory card to your computer and being able to access it through Xplorer 360.

I suggest these following links:

How to install the drivers so you can open your memory card with Xplorer360: LINK
Xplorer360 Beta 5 (latest release): LINK
How to use the original xbox's saves on the xbox 360: LINK

If you need anymore help than what has provided be sure to contact me.

Any help is appreciated.

For the guy using vista:

Yes you can run the program in vista,
download msvcr71.dll from http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71
Put the dll file in c:\windows\system

then run xplorer360

Worked for me.

uhh.gif so if i understand you guys xplorer 360 will let me make a new working xbox 360 20gb hard drive as long as i have a 20gb hard drive to copy the image from. Or does it have images in the software uhh.gif

I ask because i what to backup my xbox 360 20 gb drive so if it crashes or dies i can make a new one by getting a hard drive online wich is much cheapper than buying a new xbox 360 20gb hard drive uhh.gif

There has to be a n00b FAQ or something that explains why I'm getting "Can't find a FATX device" when I'm using XSATA. The links provided a few posts up no longer work.
