how do i rechage my items myself, is there a way?

NOTE: i dont know because ima swordsman, i am very good at just killing people with weapons, im actually really horrible at magic and potions and what not, lol, if n e one has n e cool tips on magic stuff please feel free to let me know

thanks
Maverick0984
you can do the whole soul gem/soul trap dealy to recharge them like a repair hammer repairs non magical weapons.

you need a soul trap spell and any one of those gems. you cast the spell, kill the creature, and he shows up in the stone in your inventory. use that to repair the items.

fyi, i haven't actually tried this yet, just read about it. i've been kept busy on other aspects of the game...this game is massive....
I Am Aurora
just enchant a dagger or buy the soul trap spell, hit the creature you wish to soul trap with the dagger, or cast the spell on it, and then kill it but dont take too much time to kill them or else you wont capture the soul. then when the gem is filled just click on it and select which weapon you want to recharge.
hhsweatherman
ill try that when i get home from work, but another question

how do i put feather on stuff, because i have a few swords that are weighing me down too much

thanks
I Am Aurora
you can put feather 50 pts. on weapons at the altar of enchantment, either in the arch mage's quarters and in the frostcarg spire, but you need magellatow candles for the frostcarg spire which are quite expensive

I'm sure a soul gem can feather about 75 points...

Anyway, just get the highest level Sigil Stones (Level 17+) and mess around with your saves until you get the burden / feather stone.

It feathers 125 pts.

I have a set of Glass, Daedric, Ebony and Dwarven Armour and I have enchanted each sets Greaves with the Feather Sigil Stone. It took some doing but it means I can wear any set of armour and he able to carry quite abit of stuff.

No...hence me saying "it took some time". I now have 4 outfits which have feather greaves...I needed to close 4 Oblivion gates to get them.

What can I say? Sometimes I feel like a change from the top armour (Glass and Daedric) so I might wear the Ebony or Dwarven.

By the way, on looks pretty much all the helmets look crappy...Daedric is the only good looking one.I tend to wear a hood, Dwaren armour with a Mythic Dawn hood looks pretty good because there's red sashes on the armour. Glass armour with a Necromancer's hood looks pretty good too. I'm pretty much taking the styles of Battlemage's and putting it on different armour.

Just get Umbra and Azure's Star. Umbra has a soul trap spell and Azure's Star is an unlimited soul gem. You can keep filling it up and using it over and over. Plus Umbra is the best sword in the game. Has the highest hit count.
EzEkIeL362
is the umbra enchanted? whats the hit damage? im a 91 in stregnth and endurance on level 10 so it should be pretty high. biggrin.gif

Yes it's enchanted with soul trap spell. Lots of uses, forgot exactly how many. The hit level depends on your level. I'm at around level 20 and blade is at 100 and Umbra's hit count it about 29.

Imperial Dragon armor looks good to me. Esp the helmet, about the only good looking helmet really. Sucks that the enchantments of the Imperial Dragon armor suck.

Find a trainer (if there's one) or fix A LOT of stuff yourself.

A. Conjure stuff (like a skeleton) and fight it using a weapon; wear armour as well. After about 6-7 skeletons your weapon and armour should be down a little; use repair hammers to repair them.

B. Find / Make an enchanted weapon that disintergrates armour. Fight some bandits and their armour will be absolutely knackered once they fight you. Kill them and pick it up and repair it; its upto you whether you dump the stuff or sell it. I recommend sell so you can buy back more repair hammers.

C. This is abit of a farfetched one, you need to be able to carry abit with this (feather potions/spells/enchantments). Take about 3 weapons and 3 sets of armour; the lighter stuff is probably best. Don't bother with any repair hammers, they are extra weight (1). Go out into a cave, ayleid ruin or Oblivion Gate and get fighting. Once you've got a weapon down pretty low, swap to the next. When your armour is down switch to another. When you're as close as you dare to absolutely knackered equipment go back to a town and buy some repair hammers and fix it all in one go. This is probably the hardest because it requires a large amount to carry, alot of health (or restoring potions) and quite abit of time.
I Am Aurora
thanks, this new umbra sword i just got is at 47 health and it costs alot to repair it at the shops.

There's a side quest for that Umbaco (spelling?), the guy who wants you to find all those Aylied statues. He lives in the Imperial City/Talos District. Well one of the last few quests you do for him involves an aylied crown that gets damaged. You can't repair it, but you can try and your armorer skill will go up in the process. You can just keep on reapairing it over and over. That's a fast and easy way. But that's also kinda cheating. lol Kinda..
Maverick0984
for straight recharging your weapons with the stones, do you get any skill increases? like right now i'm conjuring my own creatures and that obvious increases the conjuration skill, but i haven't exactly noticed anything else increasing from the charging of weapons.
I Am Aurora
do you know where i can find the crown for now? is it the Crown of Nenalata? can i just go to Herminia Cinna's house and steal it and put it back or will it not be there?

Yeah, it's the Crown of Nenalata. But you have to do those other quests for Umbacano first, which take a while.

The name of the quest is Secrets of the Ayleids. Here's the other quests you need to do before that one:

Nothing increases from re-charging of weapons, here's the full list of attributes and how you can personally increase them. Of course, there is training and skill books that you can use.

Blunt - Hitting people / creatures with a blunt weapon

Hand to Hand - Taking on a person or creature with only fists
Marksman - Hitting people / creatures with the bow and arrow

Conjuration - Using spells to conjure creatures
Alteration - Using spells of alteration (feather, protect etc)
Mystism - Using spells of mystism (detect life, soul trap etc)
Illusion - Using spells of illusion (light night eye etc)
Destruction - Killing people / creatures with cast destruction magic (fire, frost, shock)
Restoration - Using spells of restoration (health, health on other)

Althetics - Running and swimming
Acrobatics - Jumping

Mercentile - Selling items to a vendor
Speechcraft - Using the speechcraft mini-game to talk to people (positively or negatively)
Alchemy - Using a Pestle+Mortar (and other equipment) to blend ingredients together
Security - Using the lockpick mini-game to pick the locks of doors and chests

how exactly do the skill books work? i haven't came accross one yet i don't think, and haven't actively looked for one yet given these locations. I'm at work right now so can't check on my own. do you just flip through the pages and it gives you a +1 to that skill?

All you have to do is pick it up and "read" it. Right time you do, it will pop up and say "whatever" skill has increased.

well that certainly makes things pretty easy, don't have to work or pay for it...assuming i'm going to steal any books that are in shops. woulda been nice to know earlier, haha. hope i didn't have one and sell it or something already. i think i at least opened up all of them so i would have gotten the points anyway, but i don't really remember getting any...

kind of just thinking outloud to myself...online...

OMG i just lost at least 20,000 septims worth of stuff. i put all my staffs, enchanted swords, ingredients, my boreal sword, and armor into a chest at the arch mages private quarters since it was my only home for then. wow this sucks. all that stuff was replaced with shoes and a robe. grr.gif i saved my game and killed all the people in the arcane university and reverted back to my save, i was so mad.

Yeah, that chest is enchanted. blink.gif Only use it for ingredients. It will dupe them for you. But not other stuff. I ran back to that chest as soon as I found that out in the game, as I had done a similar thing.
I Am Aurora
no i put my stuff in the non-enchanted chest at the foot of the bed! and it dissapeared, well i just killed all the dark brotherhood people so ill probably stuff all their ebony swords and armor in a drore(sp). but i still have some good stuff.the only stuff that didnt dissapear was my ebony armor (thank god ) and my 5 glass daggers and ebony dagger. so where can i put this stuff so it wont dissapear cuz i really cant afford to have that happen again? same happened with my legion armor by putting it in an arena cupboard which were filled with rainments b4. thanks
JustDanMI
you need to get your own house. That's the best way to store things without having NPC's taking it while your away.
I Am Aurora
ok, i dont know wether i want to get the skingrad house now, or buy a smaller house. k im just gonna buy the living room furniture for the frostcarg spire, that should be like 1000 so ill just do that.

Get the Skingrad house. Best house in the game, besides Frostspire Tower.

I don't like Frostcrag Spire as a house to be honest.

The living area is alright, nice alchemy table in the corner and useful garden.

The storage chamber is just abit crappy, its pretty dark and dank (kinda hard to see) and its not set out too well.

Rosethorn House is much better laid out.

I've got a display case full of enchanted daedric weapons; so much that they wiggle inside...the noise is starting to get annoying. I've also got random un-enchanted weapons all over the floor in one spot.

I only put enchanted stuff in the cupboards and chests because if you put too much stuff of high quantities (like 6 Glass Cuirass, 4 Glass Greaves, 4 Glass Gauntlets) then they can sometimes disappear. To get them back you have to put stuff in, close and then open again. The stuff you have put in may have disappeared so put useless crap in it.

All my un-enchanted stuff is put in corners; I got a corner of Daedric, Glass, Ebony and Dwarven.

As for staffs, I got them all thrown a chest and the Wabbajak on the top; chest next to it has potions with all the Elixers of Exploration on top. Behind is a writing table which has a load of different stones in them.
I Am Aurora
so none of you ever had your stuff dissapear in your houses?
Maverick0984
i just carry what i can and sell the rest, keep the strongest stuff in my inventory, haven't had the need for a house yet, i'm about 50 hours in and level 20 or so. i think twice i had to leave 1 item in a cave or something, but i didn't really need it. any house i would want is just a bit expensive still.

Okay, what is the Frostspire Tower? Is it an add-on or is it already in the game (where?)?

I'm using the little shack in IC Waterfront, good enough for me as I'm running low on money smile.gif
I Am Aurora
yes the frostcarg spire is downloadable content but you still gotta pay for the furnishings.
I Am Aurora
well the new download called the vile lair isnt quite too bad, there is normal storage but now i like the frostcarg spire here because it has a lot more chests, i already have bought all the stuff for it, and i gotta say that there are still parts of the place which are still pretty blank lookin. it is located in sight of an oblivion gate so if you need to make trips to your house to collect the loot from oblivion gates its a good idea. however there is some good armor and a sword which is pretty good. k, so basically with the minion you tell him to go murder someone, and he comes back in 4 days, and puts 650 gold + whatever stuff that person was carrying in a chest.the first time he gave me a daedric battle axe. but it adds 1 point to your infamy, good thing to do is put on the gray cowl b4 u wait for four days so you dont get the infamy on your character. there are also a new plant called chokeberry which is basically a posion apple in the form of a berry. as far as i know from waiting about 2 weeks in the garden the plants dont grow back which is a bummer. sometimes it will say that the minion failed his task and you wont get the gold or the infamy points. the so called cattle for you to feed on is a monk lookin guy in a cage lol. he cant wake up, dont kill him either because when i did he went up into the ceiling. overall id have to say this downloads ok, and its good for vampire players aswell as evil people. its not very warm feeling. but i hope the dragon fire castle/good character castle is much better.
