Heres what i did today.... i havent put the plexi glass on the window yet....i also painted the jewel










Its not the best xbox but i tried...

it paints the bezel! it does what it's told!

other than that, looks pretty good

Wow, that's really good! I like how you did the ring around the jewel black, it makes the white jewel even with the colours Really clean, too!

I read that you haven't put the plexiglass in yet but will the spindle top be attached to it?

You cant read discs without the ring from the top of the dvd rom case.

Looks nice, paint the bezel and it will look nicer

also that would look sweet with white p/e lights, controller port leds, underglow etc

P.S : i saw your sig, softmodding is a peice of piss, you dont need anyone to do it for you

i know what could hold the disk in... umm whats it called? the thing that holds everything down, o ya gravity! i wish it was strong enough windows look so much better without the spindle

i love the color scheme, and the jewel. But yeah, paint the bezel, and get a spindle on that dvd drive... then do white controller port LEDs, and a white P/E board. And white underglow... and white sideglow.. and a white 80mm fan.. haha, id love you if you did that.

p.s. to grim, some people are too dump to find softmods. Like honestly, people around here pay me to softmod their xboxes, and it sad. If only they could read, they could do it themselves. Like how hard is it downloading 2 programs, then dragging and dropping whatever you want... but whatev, i like money

Umm the Leds have to wait for a while since im not gonna be home for 2 weeks. Then i gotta save up for some leds, cause when i come back im totally gonna be broke. Its funny though that people actually pay for softmods...lol. I remember when i was trying to do mine i wanted someone else to do it for me but luckily i had the money for the memory card and i had some left to rent 007auf. I also read like 100 pages of informantion, from xs, afterdawn, xbox-linux project, and a bunch more.


Yeah im gonna paint the bezel today, but i want the letters that say "xbox" to be grey not white, so i guess i might use some gasoline..lol.


My dvd broke like 5 months ago, so im gonna get a new one.

Can't you just tape over the letters? No wait, that's just stupid ... I have no idea haha. Try just painting the whole bezel, then drawing over the letters in a silver felt pen?

If i put gasoline on my finger and rub the letters after i painted everything the paint on the letters will come off, it works.

Edit: I didnt do the window with a dremmel... i used a soldering iron to melt the plastic i used a tiny little saw, and a knife.

I just painted the bezel.....i just left the letters white.. ill post a pic

I just painted the bezel Now all i need is my plexi glass and some leds.



Luckily i was able to scratch the paint off the letters

and a spindle if you dont want to ruin your games


EDIT: i just read the first page are you going to attach the spindle to the plexi or just cut the top

and thats some pretty good cutting on that window with a soldering iron

Hate to critique, but doesnt the window look to squared and a lil off centered or something. But who knows, I am a newb to aesthetic modding. Why not red led's?I think red would stand out more.

The spindle is gone after i get a new drive... my drive is broken. When i did that window i made a big mess but luckily everything worked out.


Well yeah its not perfect, i didnt use a dremmel cause i dont have one. I still have to tweak it a little bit, but i wont do that until i get the plexi glass.

Edit: The window is supposed to be how it is.

no YOU NEED to have THE SPINDLE otherwise it will fuck up your games

and the spindle we are talking about is mounted to the top cover of the dvd drive so you will have to cut it out but leave the spindle in the top or remove the spindle and mount it to the plexi somehow

seriously looks alot better with the bezel painted now, and thats pretty good for not using a dremel

ok heres what happened:

My dvd drive broke, so i started messing with the drive and put that spindle on the drive(btw-the laser wasnt broken) i was trying to practice for a future project. But then like 1 month later my hdd broke, so i bought another one. I then borrowed a friends dvd drive (from his xbox duh) and backed up all my games. So thats why i have that spindle thingy in there. SO ill get a new one and put it in, and mod the metal top of the dvd drive and it'll be nice .

oooooooohhhhh. ok, i stink i get it...but i like the box...use blue leds...imo that would kick ass...id put some leds around the jewel, punch some holes around the jewel, make the leds point up...i dont know, just rambling, giving away my ideas for my box...

we were talking about two different spindles

the one that is in the pictures is the one that the game sits on that is the one you were talking about

and the one that i was talking about is the one on the top cover of the dvd drive that stablizes the games
