As stated can you transer music from your PC hard drive using xplorer360? I am trying to decide if I want to buy the dongle or not. I am tired of burning mp3 to cd to put them on my xbox360. Well thanks for the info.

Nope.
Yuo can only stream videos from a Media Center PC or rip music to HDD or stream from PC or USB.

Yeah, but that's not "transferring it to the 360," right?
You can burn movies, music, and pictures to discs and play them.

Personally, I prefer to use an external HDD. The 20 gig HDD they give isn't very big at all, so my space is precious to me. I put all of my music onto a 200 gig external HDD that plugs into the USB of the 360. That way I can have as much music as I want, and I can store pictures on it as well. Not to mention, you can keep your own filing system for your music as well, instead of relying on M$ setup.

so is it really worth it waiting for something to come out which will let me transfer stuff or should i get a external hd?

External HDD costs $. Do you have your 360 networked to a windows XP PC? Then you can just share the music from your PC to 360 for FREE. Get Windows Media Connect.
That's what I'd do, but an external HDD works as well.

You can put tons of stuff on it. I have only 30GB free of my 120gb. I bought complete seasons of my favorite TV shows, some Xbox 1 games, and tons of Arcade games.
