I looked but didn't see it explained anywhere, what are the benifiets of using the other 2 network protocols over SMB?

smb is still very very buggy so not a good solution for the majority of people.

Xns (relax) is stable and does the job with grace! The stream server of choise for most of us.

XBMSP is a new and faster stream server, but no gui for it afaik
