my xbox powers up whenever i plug the power cable in. I have a xecuter 3 ce modchip that works perfectly. the only thing is everytime i plug the power cable in it turns on and wont shut of unless i unplug it.

Mine ended up being a broken trace on the underside of the motherboard. Thanks to pablot, I got it fixed. Good luck.
